60 Minutes Australia

Australia's most watched current affairs show, 60 Minutes, will be doing a piece on parkour and freerunning. In addition to showcasing some of the best traceurs and freerunners in Australia, the 60 Minutes crew will also be heading to France to meet up with Stephane Vigroux and possibly Yann Hnautra, Laurent Piemontisi and Kazuma. They also have an interview lined up with Sebastien Foucan.

In contact with Matthew and Rhys from the Australian Parkour Association 60 Minutes Australia is going to employ cranes, helicopters, and basically pull out all of the stops to shoot an incredibly ambitious parkour sequence with a handful of Australia's most talented traceurs.

Definitely something to look forwards to!

Well I hope this will shed some light on the parkour seen in australia.....so its not seen as a trouble making kind of sport :-) ...

I must admit that it sounds hot. One thing that always comes to my mind in these scenarios, is how much more access traceurs get during these news selections. I mean, they really get to test their limits and try out new spots if that is their desire, because the newspaper wants to see everything.

However, on another note, it is our job to show them the reality of what we do and not a show.

I just got back from filming a couple things for this piece (they came out to UCLA to get a couple interviews and footy). The lady who did the interview was very well informed and into representing parkour properly, so that's really comforting. Also, she said they just finished in France with a interview with david and 6 other guys. I'm really looking forward to that!

Just an update - the program is finally viewing this coming Sunday (16th September). I don't know if/when it will be online; but if anyone was wondering why nothing has been said about it - that's because it hasn't been viewed yet. Just so those of you who are interested know.
