Unleash the(B)east! PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 30 April 2007

Last year Skipper hosted one of the (B)est jams of the summer- this year he's at it again, but with a boost from Primal Fitness. Read on for details of what will surely be one of the year's (B)est jams ...

Thanks again to Skipper for organizing another amazing jam, and thanks to everyone who came out and made it one of the (B)est jams ever! Talk a(B)out the (B)east in this thread.

Beast Coast Jam at Primal Fitness

Beast Coast Day 2, Silver Spring

Skipper's (B)east Coast Jam

It's that time of year again. The beginning of summer for some, end of the school year for others, but unless you work for a foreign embassy, you have this weekend free from regular activities. Thats right, Memorial Day weekend is right around the corner and for a good chunk of this community, you know what that means. Skipper's 2nd annual (B)East Coast Jam is set on this holiest of days once again, and I, Skipper invite you to come on out and celebrate with this twice-in-a-lifetime jam to knock your socks off!
Last year we had an absolute blast with roughly 50 people running the streets of VA/DC/MD for a weekend. Starting off with a BBQ at my (Skipper's) house, followed by about 2 hours of jamming on my tree… trust me, more fun than it sounds! Followed by a session at the gym, sleep, and all out jammage at the hotspot known only as Bethesda, MD.

This jam is open to everyone!! We're hoping to get people from Los Angeles, California to  Vancouver, Toronto, and Montreal Canada to the tip of Maine and the south of Florida. Of course we won't count out anyone who wants to come from Latin and South America! Although this is the (B)east Coast jam, we hope our LA and Northern California friends will join us! Anyone from Texas?

This year should be a similar format, only instead of a session at the gymnastic's gym, we have the privilege of spending some time at the one and only, Primal Fitness. This will indeed prove to be a suitable replacement for last year's visit to Xtreme acro and cheer, and everybody can then say they have trained at the worlds first Parkour gym!

There will also be limited space to crash at Primal Fitness ... the cost of admission? A picture of the week submission! Yes, for the price of a single (decent) JPEG, you can sleep with a bunch of stinky guys in an overcorwded gym on a hard floor (with a projector and killer sound system of course!)  You MUST have a signed Primal Fitness waiver to stay in the gym, if you are a minor it MUST be signed by your parents AND they HAVE to call me to verify that they signed it. This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it a scannned signed copy of the waiver. Of Course don't bother until you've submitted your Picture of the Week entry :)

For those of you that haven't been around long enough to remember, or just didn't come to last year's, here are some pictures form some fake memories of what it was all about http://www.americanparkour.com/gallery2/v/jams/beast_001/

View the thread here and reserve your spot on a floor of a local member's house!

I hope to be there. I'm working out the logistics so that I might be able to get some of the cincinnati group to drag their collective butts along with me.

Not sure of Skipper's address in Vienna, I'll make sure he responds here. As for cost...you'll need arund $8.00 a day for metro, as that covers an all day pass. Food is food, it depends on how much you eat. Otherwise it will be gas or a plane ticket to get here and that's about it!
