An area which provides a vast array of possiblilities for parkour. Hotspots are the best of the best and are usually sought out during jams and training sessions.

I'm extremely new to parkour and have no idea where to practice. I havent tried any of the moves yet becuase I can't find anywhere to do them, but I have read up on how to do everything even thought its totally different to just read about them. Also I'm in winter now and it gets really dark at only like 4:00 and I only get home at 3:30. Just need some tips to get started

on your way home befroe you leave school work or what ever strech a little and warm up practice off benches tables fences and what have you. use you imagination near anything can be used.

im just starting. this is day 3 for me, actually. im only 14 but really want to get involved in Parkour. but, the problem is, i live in a rural area. In 3 days I've already gotten jumping from high up in a tree to directly sprinting and jumping up on a picnic table the harder way. then swinging back up into another tree. any ideas of ways to practice better with limited rails, benches, tables, and fences? :?

yeah if you live in a small town like i do it realloy lacks for any good hotspots. 
still if you really wany to go to a good hotspot head to any major city!

I live in a rural area myself, and I have found that elementary school playgrounds offer almost an unlimited amount of possibilities. There are usually rails, and equipment you can use and therefore, a great place to practice.

If the elementary school is one story too even better (assuming you can get on the roof, aka not fenced off). Look around and find places you can wall run or practice balance. You can definitely work on pull ups/etc. on the roof. Plus the playground.

I am in the basic predicament that trooper is...  
i am extremely new to Parkour and i live in Arizona, the desert and there isnt much here to practice the moves. should i explore town more or what?

When anybody ask me where and what to pratice, I generally have a rule of thumb. look around, get a map and ask yourself "how far am i prepared to travle regardless of the situation? how far am i willing to go to pratice? and whats the major kinds of movment that one will experience if one were in an emergancy situation? part of parkour is to know your enviorment, and to be proficent in moving around it. if you live in a big open area, pratice cross country and other track related movments. if you live in a dense city, learn more about climbing. it won't help to pratice what isn't useful.

It seems alot of us are in the same boat; new to parkour, living in a small-town area, trying to find a good place to practice. Today i parcticed monkey-vaulting over a trashcan at school in front of some friends. If you really look at what's around you, there are some things you can take advantage of that you couldn't in a large city. For one, the parks arn't usually corwded and organizing a training group with friends is alot easier!

we train at a high/elementry building /church  
the best places are usualy abandonend areas like schools ,parks 
consrution areas and if your quick enof THE MALL lol good times good times

yea i live in rural area to but just training like that until u are old enough to drive around to diffrent places and such will be very helpful.. 
Also u might think that if u have to wait till colledge you might lose intrest but ud be surprised i mean just having fun to train then head to a city in like 4 years (3 for me :)) till college is a good idea

oh almost forgot since ur in winter build a parcube it under learn - artocles - how to also great stuff there for rural areas busides the parcube i mean awesome stuff
