K-Swiss Commercial Features Parkour and Freerunning PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 19 March 2007

Los Angeles based K-Swiss' latest TV commercial features Parkour, Freerunning, and Anna Kournikova. What more could one want? OK, it features Skynative too :) --It's amazing to see the finished product, knowing how much footage went into this and how "cut down" it gets. There were some fantastic moves and moments that didn't make it into the TV spot I'm sure because of time constraints. We should have the director's cut at some point. --Keep an eye out for the commercial on ESPN, TNT, and MTV - you can also see it on the K-Swiss website as listed below. There will be a more Parkour-Specific commercial later this year. --We had a blast and would like to thank once again ... please read more, I sound like I'm at the Oscars :)

It was a blast filming in Los Angeles, with the beaches and California sunshine it's hard not to like! Thanks to everyone in this project, everyone at K-Swiss for the opportunity, David, Darrell, Jennifer, Bernie -

The Folks at Aero - Ken you rock! Kim, Miguel, Topher, Enrique, how's Blake?

Leslie, my date for the trip, thanks so much!!

Everyone from the Gale group -Ladies, how are those squats?

Gary Jensen and Crew

and of course Anna, Todd, Levi, Tyson, Frosti, Victor and Xin!

Can't wait for the next one :)

There's no Xin in the video at all ... the tic-tac to frontflip is Levi. Xin did some nice stuff too, but it didn't get in, either did Frosti's high-flying stunts :)

Thanks all! It was a blast and I was much happier with how this turned. Im excited to see more and the second ad. To answer some Qs from the forum; It took a week to shoot both ads, and it was done by the company Aero Films with the incredible director, and person, Ken Arlidge. I wont say too much about the Rannel shoe, but it wasn't designed for freerunning.

I don't know about the stuff they cut out, but what they left in rocks! Great footage, and more positive exposure.

In case anybody is interested, the Special Features DVD that accompanies the "Casino Royale" DVD has some interesting parkour background info on the scenes shot in the movie.

A note from the director of the K-Swiss television commercials

* The skill, focus, and enthusiasm of the entire Parkour team was remarkable. You operated like seasoned film veterans and my entire crew was equally impressed.

* Mark - thanks for bringing together a great team, for your focus, intellect, and remarkable ability to rapidly understand our complex machine.

* Levi, Tyson, Victor, Frosti, Xin, and Todd - To each of you much respect for making it look so easy, for your stamina, and each for an attitude that reflects great human spirit.

* A hearfelt thanks to Jesse and Skipper.

* Thank you K-Swiss for providing conceptual boards that support this great 'sport'.

Ken Arlidge.

Working with Ken was a totally different level, talk about focus and well -oiled machines, he is brilliant, driven, and fun at the same time. Not to mention the work that Kim does to hold things together!

hopping around during a fire fight or in lets say...Baghdad might be a tad dangerous. and thats alot more tiring than using a ladder, and tired soldiers make mistakes. but still very cool.

i take that back, it would be wise to instruct them for its purely E&E values
