How To Start Freerunning (NOT)

Terrible, terrible terrible. AGHHH. Normally I post up some good wonderful news about Parkour or Freerunning but this caught my attention and I needed to spread the word. This is NOT how you should write an article about how to start freerunning. What's worse is they pulled this straight out of wikiHow (http://www.wikihow.com/Start-Free-Running) which is editable by the masses. IF you know how, please try to edit this on wikiHow!!!

... well at least they say it can be dangerous and to start small and avoid rooftops :)

SLC Outdoor Convention

A group of FiveTen sponsored athletes including freerunners and tricksters took to the streets during this Outdoor Convention. Looked like a bunch of tricking with some nice freerunning lines thrown in. Must have been fun!!

Mirror's Edge Time Trial

Cool trailer for Mirror's Edge that we came across we Sebastien Foucan in it! Nothning spectacular but it's really cool to see how they "integrated" real footage with in game trailers. Definitely something different :) 

Grant for safe Parkour Classes

Incredible! A group in Caine has been given a grant by the community council to train 13 to 18-year olds. They will be taught public consideration and considerable amount of safety. News like this gets me very excited :)

PARKOUR COMES TO BC

This 2 page article interviews some of Boston College's local traceurs. Includes all the standard stuff - what parkour is, our discipline, a short history lesson, and youtubes!  It follows Matt and Greg as they try to start an official Boston College Parkour club.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop Trailer 1

Victor Lopez from Tempest Freerunning will be in the comedic film "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" where he gets to show off his beast skills and dabble in some acting. Check out the trailer for some good laughs :) Congratulations to Victor for getting such a sweet role!!

Why I signed up for the Rat Race

Near the end of the article the reporter Tom Whipple has a quick lesson with Sebastien Foucan on freerunning. He talks about what it's like to train with Seb and how he makes amazing leaps and movements look so simple. It's a very good read because you get to read a lot of what Sebastien says!

Parkour jumps its way to Rowan

Another cookie of an article, this time meeting and talking with locals from Rowan University in NJ. Description of what Parkour is and a short history lesson is included. They also have a video clip linked up from youtube :)

They Run Like Animals and Fly Like Birds

Sweet little article with a nice description of Parkour. Includes 2 great pictures and an attached video clip. I just think its awesome that it's catching on so well all over the globe!
