Hawaii Parkour is in the News once again - is Ozzi the hardest working guy in Parkour? He may just be! He's been doing a hell of a job getting exposure and getting new people into Parkour in Hawaii!! This story is sort of a mixed blessing to me, I culd personally do with out the "roof jumping adrenaline rush" bits, but I think what Ozzi says is solid and the way that the story portrays Parkour overall is good, with a message that it's an art, that you need to learn it progessively, and a final message of safety at the end. Check it out here .
We had a blast in Houston!! Thanks so much to all the guys and gals from Houston Parkour that showed up, and a huge thanks to Jay from the University of Houston Recreation Department for treating us like rock stars! We got to play on the climbing wall and dive off the 3 meter board into their mahoosive pool! There was a very cool guy from ABC13 who shot some video and put together this clip . It was an honor to have Darrell Lane of K-SWISS on hand for the Demos. We are psyched and lookingforward ot meeting as many traceurs and freerunners as possible in Miami on Monday!
TK17 recently released a full-length documentary about Lisses, the birthplace of parkour, and the pilgrimage that many traceurs take there. In his words :
"it is about parkour itself. It is important that everyone understand this is not just a
"parkour video." It's not just a bigger and better sampler. It is
different, and it deserves a different kind of attention. I spent over a thousand work hours making this, and I care very deeply about it, and I am eager to know what you think."
You can post your thoughts and comments here, or in the thread on the forums. Either way, this is an incredible documentary and it's very apparent how much love and dedication went into creating it. So a huge thanks, and congratulations, to TK17 on finishing this and getting it out to the community!
Ozzi and the boys in Hawaii were recently featured in a good article in the Honolulu Advertiser check it out here . The article starts out a bit wild and has some factual errors, but turns for the better when it talks about how hard Ozzi has worked in the scene there and talks about the training aspects of Parkour.
M2 recently spoke to Voice of Ameica, answering some questions for a piece they did on parkour. It's a very positive broadcast that mostly focuses on David Belle and the mental aspects of his parkour training. Check out the transcript or listen to the actual on their website.
"This is me training over the past couple months in the NY/NJ area, with special focus on smaller more controlled movements, emphasizing creativity and trying to really explore movement and push my boundaries."
