PK MI III Pictures Up PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 April 2006

Thanks again to Nem and his family, particularly Shorty for being truly gracious hosts! Michigan was a blast, first a blast of snoring from Mo, then a blast of frigid air, then a blast from my ... after eating 3 Sloppy Joe's. Anyway, we had fun and nobody was seriously injured that lived to tell anyone about it. Too bad we don't have any pictures of Skipper and I playing catch with that hunting arrow. Check out the other pics in the Jams & Events Gallery.

The WOD Newsletter PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 18 April 2006

We are proud to announce the publishing of our very own fitness newsletter. For now this will give you email access to the Workout of the Day, though the future will see this resource being utilized for a more expansive fitness publication for the Parkour community.

Registered users can subscribe by going to the "My Details" tab in the user menu, then going to "Edit" and "Update Profile". The Newsletters tab should be in amongst this info. Click the check box next to the WOD newsletter and you will be added to the mailing list.  Consider this our "beta version" of the newsletter process, and don't hesitate to let us know if you have any problems!

Article in Florida Newspaper PDF Print E-mail

This article was recently printed in the Palm Beach Post. Overall a very nice job by Fred Marion. I feel the beginning was a bit hokey, but definitely better than many we've seen. The video, on the other hand, is something I'm not proud to have related to "Parkour" ... as there isn't any. There isn't anything that could even be passed off as Parkour, and worse it seems to have a focus on injury and showing off. While I'm not trying to be overly harsh to the Florida guys, this is EXACTLY why we try to share info with people and we recommend that certain people represent for media opportunities.

What impression will the Floridians have of Parkour? Serious discipline about moving through your environment, or a bunch of kids jumping off stuff ...

PK MI Goes off with Nary a Hitch... PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 10 April 2006

This past weekend's jam in Port Huron Michigan was a pretty great success with Traceurs coming from multiple states to meet up and train across the lake from Canada. Myself and the DC guys (along with a few NYC tagalongs) made the long trek there to be astonished by the hospitality of the crew in attendance. A huge thanks goes out to Nem, along with the friends and family that helped out with lodging and food for the weekend (thank you for the 4am chicken and Exo's massage Auntie Nem!)

It was awesome to meet every Traceur and Freerunner in attendance. Keep up the training, and do your best to make it down to DC in May!

Pictures and video coming soon.

Are you a Traceur or Freerunner in the Los Angeles Area? Are you interested in doing media, television, or stunt work? If so, we may have some opportunities for you.

APK receives many calls from producers and casting agents looking for talented people to fill various roles. Many times we know just the right person and can make a match, and sometimes we can only point people in the right direction.

Lately, there have been a few calls from the LA area which require people to be in the area.

Interested Traceurs and Freerunners should send a picture (head shot), video clip between 30 seconds and two minutes, and an email with basic bio information, as well as what you love about Parkour or Freerunning to:

San Francisco Chronicle Article PDF Print E-mail

Congrats to Corndogg from SF Parkour on taking part in this great article. He and several other SF traceurs were featured in a great article by

Parkour is a new craze in which kids treat the city as their gym. Spider-Man would approve.

The boys look as if they're trying to outrun the police. They jump over a wall, drop 10 feet and somersault to break the impact of landing. They leapfrog over a garbage can and clear a bench. They dash a step up another wall, grip the top and shimmy over.

But no one is chasing them. They're simply practicing parkour, the modern art of navigating through your environment with maximum efficiency.

New Video PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 17 March 2006

There is a new video in the Parkour section. It's from Glide, a traceur out of New York, and shows a very high quality piece of work.

It was produced by a team of hopefuls, some very talented people whose names I'm sure we'll see on a Hollywood feature coming soon.

Check it out in the Videos Section.
