After
just three classes each and everyone of the Parkour Boot camp students
are managing to very quickly gain great control over their body
movements.
In yesterdays class, after a warm up that involved some
balance drills, jumps and PK landings, Ozzi and Pete lead the group to
vaulting introduction, having them all experiment with a variety of
techniques to mount on to and over come simple obstacles that may be on
their path. This is only their third class and they are progressing
very rapidly. Watch out Oahu!!!! A new breed of super humans is being
created, right here at crossfit.
Here are the pics from yesterdays class for you all to look at.
Parkour.net is closed. Jerome was contacted by Jean-François Belle today and asked to remove references to David, the Belles and the term Parkour. Translation of the message on the website can be found in the read more.
The Pittsburgh City Paper has just put up an article on Parkour thats bursting with goodness! It mainly follows Pittsburgh traceurs Drew "PKFR" Obenreder and a few of his friends. It starts with the reporter at the Ohio PK Generations meeting, devles into what parkour is, and discusses what we do when we jam and train. They overview the basic movements and point out that no gear is nevessary. It gives you a real good feel as to what Parkour is all about. Please take a few minutes out of your day to read this well written article and give props to those who helped it happen :)
The torch has been passed on from Chicago for this years Midwest Jam - it is being hosted in Madison, WI by Madison Parkour! With about a month left to go, it seemed like a good time to post a reminder. It's being organized by the great community there and lead by Muse_of_Fire ! She's put a lot of work into organizing what looks to be a big bundle of fun :) Please read more if you plan on going or if you just want to see what's in store!
