APK sponsored athlete Natalie Strasser was just named Director of the newest parkour facility in Southern California, MonarX.

    MonarX Parkour is located in Agoura Hills, CA. Classes will be taught by Coach Natalie and other parkour instructors who've performed in various TV shows, movies, and commercials. The facility is on the smaller side and it doesn't have a trampoline, foam pit or gymnastics floor, instead it provides a lot of climbing space and indoor parkour obstacles where you can work on anything from flow to 10 ft bar precisions.

   Classes offered range from beginner to advanced for children and adults alike. There are open gyms for both kids and adults. The gym will offer camps during school
holidays and summer vacation.

   The idea behind the classes is to teach parkour in a safe environment so anyone can translate it to the concrete world if they wish.

Natalie started parkour in February 2010 and has since fell in love with the sport. She was a competitive gymnast for 13 years, competing Division I for Kent State University for 2.5 years. She found that parkour and freerunning were able to challenge her physically and mentally just like gymnastics did, but provided more freedom of expression and movement that was not found in the rigid  environment of gymnastics. In May she tried out for American Ninja Warrior and had her first professional performance in June. She looks forward to spreading the movement!
