Thomas Couetdic has written an official review of the Morzine training
camp that took place in the French Alps. From the 16th to the 20th of September, it proved to be a seriously intense experience for everyone that attended. "We came back for breakfast and headed back out immediately for the
first conditioning session: a simple and small wall run followed by a
controlled climb down. The 100 reps proved deadly on the hands of the
guys (especially because Forrest would make everyone start again if one
of them failed to do the exercise properly) and they all carried
painful blisters until the end of the course. And we had just started..." Click here for the full article on Parkour Generations website.

This past Saturday, Sept 27th, New York City hosted the Urbanathalon , an outstanding race through the city which includes vaulting taxi cabs and scaling walls. Dodge sponsored the event and built an obstacle course for people to compete on. A K-Swiss booth was set up along with Tribe and Alliance members performing on the course and the entire South Street Seaport! Skipper, Leon, Brian, Jereme and Sam rocked the event despite the rainy weather. Great job guys!
The national jam training weekend, hosted by the Michigan Parkour Club in Ann Arbor, Michigan this weekend was a big success! It began with a two hour presentation about Parkour and Freerunning by Travis, Mike, and Levi at the local library which brought in over 100 people. Immediately afterwards, we had a night training session with everyone who had arrived for the jam, as well as those at the presentation that were interested. No count was taken but it looked like at least 40 people came to this session. The jam saw many people who were just getting started, so we ran a thorough warm-up as well as clinics to teach the fundamentals and show how we train. The main event on Saturday brought in around 80 people from all over the Midwest region and further. It was a day full of hard work, and fun which ended in the evening with a BBQ at Hamid's house. On Sunday, those who could still walk came back out and hit up some new locations with much less structured training. It was a complete success in both showing the newcomers the ideal way to practice and train parkour, and showing everyone a great time!
Frosti and Ryan Ford from The Tribe were joined by Nikkie Zanevsky for a performance for Steve Madden Shoes. Steve Madden just opened a store in the trendy Chaoyang District in Beijing. The performance featured parkour and freerunning skills on display and the crowd loved it! Mark Toorock was there to help design, choreograph and coordinate. Frosti, Ryan, and Nikkie absolutely killed it! More pics from the performance, plus chicken heads, eating scorpions, and the great wall coming soon!
The University of Michigan Parkour Club is once again hosting a jam "training weekend." This event is geared toward newer practitioners, since it will involve guided training stations, but it will also have more open "jam" type sessions as well. We expect to see traceurs and freerunners from all over Michigan and the Midwest including a number of Tribe and Alliance members. Read more for details...

"There
are 10^11 stars in the galaxy. That used to be a huge number. But it's
only a hundred billion. It's less than the national deficit! We used to
call them astronomical numbers. Now we should call them economical
numbers."
