So I can do either of them off of almost anything with just a little bit of height. I feel like they are rather good. But when I try them on the ground I seem to have the worst trouble doing it and I always put my hands on the ground. I feel like I am ready for it, it's just as if my body isn't trust me. These two are my main flips right now and I really want to get them to where I can do them on the ground. I didn't see any topics asking for help on these two besides the headache one. So if you could teach me to teach my body to not fear landing without my hands I would be more than over joyed. Teach me your wayz! Lol. Please and thank you. Grin

Since it sounds like you learned them off height first, you may not have learned the part of the trick where you get height. Basically with any trick, you need to explode off the ground then WAIT while you get airborn before initiating the trick. Aerials and barannis are a bit different because you get height both from the leg pushing off, and the leg kicking back.

So it is Barani? And I need to jump and wait until I reach my peak, then flip. Sounds like it will take me a while to get it. Would it be safe to practice this outside without mats since I can do them already? Thanks for your help.

you should be fine practicing it in the grass if you feel confident enough in it, I should be finishing up an aerial tut today so that could help you out a bit

As you learned them from height, it'll be really different just going straight to ground! Work your way down! Try taking off of lower things! like tree stumps or things of that nature...

Meaning to say, approach, plant off objects, and try your aerial and baranis...

Also when you did them off height, did you have running approach? or a static swingthrough?

Ok. The thing is I can do them running or standing. I got that down. There is this stump thing I have doing them off of. It is like two feet off the ground, still really high >.>, but I have been working on it like that. Umm, I think it may help but I am unsure. I think it is definitely. And I can't wait for that tutorial. But take your time =)

I do actually. Don't make fun of the msuic. I am kinda embarassed the person who edited picked the song they did. They stole it from an older video... I apologize. But it shows my aerials and Baranis both a lot. Here is the link-http://youtube.com/watch?v=bU-nJamuFHg The baranis and Aerials start at around 40 seconds. I am the guy on the right in the red shorts. Long curly hair. They may not be the best. But I had just started working on lay-out/diving baranis that day. =) Don't comment the music please. I know it was a bad idea >.> but, you can comment the rest freely. Please and thank you. =D

Oh yeah man, i've got some stuff you should  work on.

Because you have that height, you're just floating your flip.  Which works from height....butttt on the ground, not so much.

The first leg that takes off(the swinging leg) so for you, your left leg, needs to swing HARD!
Practice standing up straight and swinging your leg forward and back...try dipping down, mock the aerial, get a good feel/stretch on that SWING of your leg.  That'll play a big part.

Also, you need to learn to use your arms.

I found this tutorial a good one. Especially since you're moving down from height. Keep notice on what goes on with the ARMS and that swinging leg.
Good luck! let me know on your progress

It has been really cold and wet; I don't have a gym. So, as soon as things brighten and dry up a little, I plan to do this. Thank you so much and I know this is going to help me out so so so so so so so so much!
