Well said Animus!  Important PERSPECTIVE!

On the lighter side, we'll need to start a thread to share ideas regarding the best way to clean shoe marks off walls, reseal wooden structures, prime & paint walls/benches/etc, and apparently patch holes in walls.   Shocked

that can be discussed in this thread, as I'm sure it pertains to the initial topic.

if the paint on the walls is white, bleach is often good for removing shoes marks

The important thing is to get out and do SOMETHING positive. What exactly isn't as important as making a positive contribution to your community or the area(s) where you train.

This idea has been milled about for a while, and I thank Animus for bringing it up to the forefront which is what makes things happen!!

Today the COPK classes took trash bags around the CU Boulder campus and trained while cleaning up the area.

I'd like to thank everyone for participating.  We got people from all over the world taking part in this, in Europe and even Australia!  To me, that's quite the measure of success and I'm sure we made a difference, if ever slight.

Mark's completely right.  It's all about staying positive... and this just goes to show what can get done with a little bit of positivity and just giving a slight nudge to remind people, "Hey, this is a good idea, right?"  It was an extremely simple, and effective, idea that everyone just jumped on, and it's great to see the entire WORLD come together without any arguing or bickering (well, aside from that UF thing) to do something good.

Madparkour cleans up our training spots as a regular part of our training, now. It's just a habit for us: do a vault, see some trash, pick it up. Smiley

If you were part of the BSA, cleaning up the place would be an excellent eagle project, nice and easy.

Cleaning up stuff at Gasworks went well, but at UW there wasn't much we could do. The walls are so textured the only way to get rubber marks off is probably a power sprayer, contacting grounds keeping to see what else we can do.

The initiative has been maintained and incorporated into the thought processes of most traceurs, now, which I think is great!  The actual act of cleaning a place up can be done any time.  April was just a month for everyone all over the world do it specifically, and it led to great results.
