Congrats on the progress, man!  I haven't even bothered to try a dash vault yet.

One thing, though: it's important to remain a little humble about "mastering" things, even though it feels great to make accomplishments.  I think this article by Blane sums it up pretty nicely.

gosh party pooper =P lol, yea i get that. well how about i'm COMFORTABLE with them? that sounds better. my gate vaults have progressed immensely as well. I used to flip over and swing my legs to the side (i'm sure a lot of people know what i'm talking about) but i can finally swing my legs over my head for the full vault which will continue my forward movement. Although the other way could be useful when changing direction at the bottom of a gate vault on the other side. But yea i was excited about that. and my kash vaults are feeling stable now as well.

P.S. sorry for the incorrect word usage! =]

No problem, man. Smiley  I think I'm just thinking a lot about having the right perspective about my own skills because I screwed up last Friday and haven't been able to train or exercise at all since then. Sad

o i am very sorry to hear that. I would hate to not be able to run. What happened, if you don't mind me asking?

There was this precision that I KNEW I wasn't capable of, but for a split second I was like "YEAH!  I can do that!  SURE LOLZ!" and went for it.  It was a very, very bad decision.  I nailed my shin on the corner of this concrete ledge I was aiming for, and put a 4x2 centimeter, heart-shaped gash about 4 inches below my left knee.  I went to the ER and they said they couldn't stitch it because the skin was too far apart, so I've been out of training since last Friday.  It's only now getting to a point where there's no constant, dull ache in my leg, so hopefully by Tuesday of next week I'll be able to start getting serious about lifting again, then maybe by the next week I can start doing more parkour.

One careless moment, weeks of idle recovery.  This coming from a guy who's general motto about parkour is "train safe, don't be stupid."  Roll Eyes

yea i've had those moments but all my training partners know what im capable of and i was ready to do this pretty decent precision when my friend was like "man idk... that looks kind of big..." so i got down and thank god i had because we found a curb size one that was the same distance... i would have really screwed up. thank god for friends. im sorry about your leg and i hope you can get back out there really soon. it will never beat my first parkour related injury.
