I have been considering moving for Shanghai for six months to a year's worth of internship, and have thus been looking for people to train with in Shanghai.  But I haven't been able to find any on English internet.  I've found a good amount in Hong Kong, but that's not where I'll be.  Does anyone know of any practitioners or groups over in Shanghai, or how I could go about finding them?  Note that my Mandarin is horrible, and my Shanghainese is nonexistent.

You best start learning some Mandarin if you are planning to be there for such a long time. There isn't anything in English for Shanghai, but some of the Traceurs there do speak English. If you get a QQ account, their group number is: 31544905 and you will be able to speak with them there.

That video is in Nanjing (a 2-3 hour long drive from Shanghai) and is of Jin training on his own. It answers none of his questions.

Aardvark, my Shanghainese is not that good as well.... they have a different slang there than anything I've ever heard, but you will be able to make due. If you are going to be there between September 2008 - January 2009, get in contact with me and we'll meet up.

As far as I knew, a scene does exist in Nanjing w/ Jin and the University. Maybe he could help with getting in touch with a shanghai scene if it existed.

A scene definitely exists in Nanjing as well as Shanghai. They are two seperate, but close, communities. As I said, you can contact their main group through using QQ. If you can't figure out that, then I'd be glad to help you by sending some contacts of English speaking members.

Thanks for the info, KShap and Gustav.  My ability to read 国语 is very, very limited (probably around 100 characters), though I'm trying to fix that, so QQ has been a little overwhelming to me.  I may or may not still go, though, so it may end up being a moot point.

We've been living in Shanghai for about eight months, and in China for a few years.  We've only been training in Parkour for a short time, and we have a two year old daughter who trains with us Tongue, but we'd be glad to meet up with you.  Our Chinese is pretty decent so I think I might check out that qq number KShap posted as well...
