Hooray, I feel special now!!! Grin Grin Grin
Alright.
Progress since Christmas.
Lots of pullups since I got an iron gym bar. A good amount of parkour practice. Handstand practice too.
Goals:
30 second handstand.
20 pullups
1 muscleup
10 handstand pushups.
3 free standing handstand pushups.
Frog stand or jump and press into handstand.
To develop stronger legs through lunges and hamstring lifts, as well as calf and shin exercises. (Lunges because I can't do squats without falling over, weird body build.)
Rolls without pain consistently instead of most or some of the time.

For the pullups I was planning on using this program, seem reliable?
http://www.4mcd.usmc.mil/AOP/OSOHyattsville/Armstrong%20Pullup%20Program.htm
Also, it seems like every time I'm satisfied that what I'm going to do will make my legs strong enough for parkour, I hear about a new workout that's so imperative for your legs. There's just not enough time in the day. Could anyone give me the workouts they know will make my legs strong enough for parkour. I know that may sound exacting, but I really worry about my legs, even though I never drop from height or anything.

Woot - you started a training log! Good to see you on here!

OK, first, I'm sure you've read this already, but you may want to check out Steve's article, http://www.americanparkour.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,159/topic,3046.0/, again to give you some information on the lower body stuff. A lot of people seem to like the program outlined in Mark Rippetoe's book, Starting Strength, for improving overall strength (including lower body), so maybe give that some consideration. Don't worry about it too much, though. There's always room for improvement, but you're doing alright already. As long as you keep conditioning, and not taking huge crazy risks, you should be fine. And I don't remember your body build being that weird - are you keeping your arms out in front of you when you try to do squats?

For the pullups - I'm not sure about that program...pushups won't help you with your pulling strength, unless I'm greatly mistaken, and going consistently to the point of failure isn't generally good. I've seen this program mentioned a few times: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recon_Ron_Pull-up_Program. I haven't tried it myself (STILL working on getting a single pullup), but it looks like it should be better.

Anybody who has experience with either of these two programs care to comment?

Thanks for commenting!!! The body thing is that I can't squat down without my weight going behind me. I do keep my arms out, but it made little difference.
As for today's training.
I started the pullup program, so I did day one of that, three pushup sets to failure in the morning, and 3 pullup sets to failure later in the day. It seemed to work well.
I did a huge amount of parkour, do to the amazing weather.

Did the second day of pullup program and some parkour. No leg workouts because of my extremely sore knees. Started to get still, long handstands yesterday instead of long, but wobbly handstands.

(Last three days)
I did the third day of the pullup program, but only the pushups for the 4th and 5th, because of a pulled oblique that has rendered me incapable of doing pullups. On the bright side, I was working on flips a lot and pulled it working on aerials. From now on I know not to reach for the ground if I don't have to. I started doing squats since I figured out a way to do them without any discomfort or falling. All I have to do is squat at the foot of my bed and grab the post when I get to the bottom so that I don't fall. Now I can squat with proper form without falling.

Today and tomorrow are my rest days from the pullups, which is good because my side still hurts, although it's better. I wasn't even thinking and did the pushups this morning out of habit. I did tons of leg exercises today. Squats, hamstring lifts, calf and shin raises, box jumps, stair drop sqauts, leg lifts, and some other weird glute and posterior thing I don't have a name for. I slightly pulled my right glute, so I had to stop early, but I barely missed anything. I had already done all the workouts, I just hadn't completed my second set of two of them. I'm planning on working my frontflip and double leg today. I aslo saw the Harlem Globetrotters, which was awesome. Grin Grin Grin

Not to much done today. My side is almost all better, I should be able to do the required pullups tomorrow. My right glute is also feeling better. I'm going to do some light training later today. I landed a few front flips yesterday on my cushions, I even over did one. I'm going to take away the cushions and start using pillows once I am confident with my landing ability. I bruised my heel, which looks really weird, never knew you could do it, but it only hurt for an hour or so. It doesn't even hurt if I touch it. Other than that, I almost surely won't do anything tomorrow, because I have to study for finals, which I should be doing now. Wink I had a snow day on Honors Bio day, which gave me more time to study. Grin Grin Grin To understand how hard it is, my friend studied for 13 hours for a normal test. Cry Cry Cry

Did day one of the pullup routine minus the pushups. Other than that, I've been studying since I got home and I will continue to study until probably around 1 in the morning.

Got an 86% on my Bio final, keeping me at an A. Grin Grin Grin
Did the past two days of the pullups routine, minus the pushups, mostly because of laziness. Tongue
Did tons of leg workouts today.
Squats, box jumps, stair squats, leg lifts, hamstring lifts, calf and shin raises, as well as back extensions and bicycle situps.
Also landed a few frontflips and cushions. I'm going to substitute pillows for cushions now and start wearing shoes to ease into flips on grass.

No pullups today, pulled a bicep. I did do tricep dips, shin and calf lifts, squats, back extensions, and bicycle situps.
