I've known that I wanted to do parkour for a couple months now but have kind of been boxed in from practicing outside because of the ice. I've been working out but I really don't have any workout equipment or larger weights. I have 8 pounders that I've been using, trying to do more to make up for how light they are. Is this the right idea? I do have access to my school weight room but it's slightly inconvenient.

I know this is an over asked question but what should I do to actually practice parkour? I've heard that it isn't about 'moves' but motion and getting past obstacles, but it seems that you should know how to do some specific motions before you can tie in the rest?

Also, I'm having trouble with a handstand. Is it supposed to come up from a head stand with two hands on the ground or are you supposed to lunge forward from a standing position? I've been trying the latter. Should I just try to get as far as I can into it to get better?

For a handstand, you should be doing the latter.

Check out www.beastskills.com

Good tutorial on handstands Smiley

And don't forget the benefit of good ole bodyweight exercises: pushups, pullups, squats, situps etc
