So I have been trying to get this move down. I know it is mainly about balance OFF COURSE, but I also figure is about how you position your body. At the beginning I was trying it with my body being pretty spread long ways, like on this video trying to place my center of balance in the middle towards my arms, which was really difficult to keep balance. Yesterday however, while feeling the move to figure out a different way, I tilted my center of balance towards my legs, letting most of the weight rest on them and just put enough weight on my arms to where I can use them to keep me balanced also. It worked a lot better and can walk way further, still very slow but this is a move I have just started to put training into, I just need some help with it. I have seen it many different other ways, motly like on the video. So what works for you in order to do a good cat balance?

Its hard for me to explain...I'll get a video of me as soon as I can...I'm actually glad I can do it because it doesn't seem like a lot of people do it or even attempt to try.

It seems to me like most of the strength of it is in your core and forearms. As far as balance/technique... I don't know how to explain it, either... And I can't try it now, with my ankle and all.
Maybe some sort of isometric hold in that position would aid in balance and endurance? That way you can practice that virtually anywhere, without needing to find a lengthy railing...
That's the best advice I can come up with at the moment.

I concentrate on my hips first then abs and back. I know where my arms and feet are going, but I don't look at my feet, so I concentrate on my hips. My weight shifts each time I move forward(left hand, right foot, i think you got that part)
I practice on a rail with two bars, I can see how much my weight shifts to one side when I move because of the bottom bar.
Left hand first, my weight will shift to my right leg/arm, and vice versa. If I can get good momentum in the movement it takes less control than it does from the starting position.

Well actually I don't focus on my hips much. I focus on my wrists, knees and feet...not only is it balance but you need to be focused...this helps you learn full-body control. And when you actually are doing it right you weight barely shifts back and forth...I can't get it perfect but I can do it pretty well. I'll try to get a video tomorrow but it might be kind of poor quality.

I agree. Well-placed hands and feet make a big difference, as does the angle of your knee. And don't forget breathing!

Yea don't forget breathing for anything...if not...you die haha...but breath calmly and focus.
But when you do catwalks...it actually gets you pretty tired...it doesn't seem like it would...but it does.

I dislike Res's way of running, as it looks a little awkward. I fit works for him, sure, but otherwise, the info in the vid is very good.

See how the guy does cat balance on the rial, he is not so stretch out, thats how I do it, I am working on getting speed and momentum though. It is pretty good on the legs, forearms and wrist. I least thats what I feel.

Yea...you need to have your center of gravity over a small area to do it...I have speed down and balance but I still need to get it perfect...and once I do...I will do what no one has done before(I think) I will cat walk...a slack line.
