CF WOD

For time:
30 Handstand push-ups
40 Pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 8#
60 Sit-ups
70 Burpees (touching the ceiling)

My time 17:45

I was not looking forward to the burpees for some reason. Now I know why. I thought I was going to be able to break it down in 20's but eh eh. After I was done I realize I was dehydrated, how? terrible head ace, thats how. I had only a glass of water during the day, I didnt realize that until I was done. This workout was like one of those that looks easy but it just catches you towards the end.

Yesterday I did some tramp work, not much really. Just messing around since it had been so long.

Had a gym session, toke it easy, mainly super man front flips off of the tramp and on flat, side flips, some vaults, arabians a few walking gainers and my old times walking set backflip. My knee was feeling a bit silly, like bothering me a bit so I didnt do much impacting, I want to stay fresh for the jam. I havent been doing much high impact stuff, yesterday was the only time all this week. Side flips are looking good though, I am very comfy with them

Its been a while since I posted last.

This week is been light, VERY light, TOO light.
Since the jam I have done barely anything. However David and I (mostly David) have been training at Cirque Hawaii all this week, he might be going on tour with them so he is priority but they have been training him on the Russian swing and the pendulous. I have done a few stuff over there taking advantage of the toys, hand stands, flags, some precisions on the stairs, balance etc. I have been mainly helping out. There is a chance I can be taught stuff and be used as back up, who knows.

Yesterday they let me jump on off of the swing, soooo nice. First jump was horrible, they said everyones jump is. The second was beautiful, angel like and all with arms open about 20 feet high or so. So awesome.

Today a did some of the silk cloth stuff (hanging of the ceiling doing forms and what not. Really hard.

After that I went to CF. Made up my own workout.
There workout was insane and I wanted to be fine for the gym.

Mine was.

3 round FT
100 rope skips
15 rail precision about 7 to 8ft apart
100 rope skips
15 Elbow PU (like a dive bummer (?) but with elbows, starts up, goes down, down onto elbows, push up and back to pike position, then back down to elbows, onto palms and up again in a PU start position)
100 rope skips
15 side QM's each side

My time was 26:50, it was light but nice. I need to do it again and stick more of the precisions though.

After that gym session, kept it light and simple. Front tucks, sides. Kong stall to front and side. I few backtucks. That was about it.

Yesterday I got out to get more footage for my year demo.

Several different techniques a lot of repetition/drilling.

 Wall up.
 Dino's
 Running.
 Precisions.
 Cats.
 Pop Vault
 Tic Tac dismount.
 Kong to precisions.

mainly that but lots of it, got a good sweat and some nice little scrapes here and there. Feeling much more comfortable with kong to precision onto rails now that I have been drilling it.
I am going out today woth pete to get some conditioning going.

Today was really good. Intense.

Went to the Ala Wai canal spot form some conditioning. We originally wanted to go to the big stairs spot (forgot to take pics off) but as soon as I started doing backwards QM's up the stairs I was asked not to do that because I was "endangering" myself... I almost laughed. Good thing he wasnt there when I did the water fountain precision. It just makes me realize how limited we are about motion, QM going upward, how endangering is that. WOW.

Anyway, we did lots of conditioning gauntlet style.

QM's, Box jumping, precisions, monkey stalls, cat traversing. Lots of cool stuff, covered every part of the body.
Conditioned for about an hour, then did some wall ups, kongs to precision, more precision, some flips. Got a great workout, might be sore tomorrow but that is good.  Afro

Update.

Been training with the circus more. So much fun, there is so much PK to do there as well, dark and kinda crowded but nice.
Got some more footage for the demo, that involved lots of lower body workout, a great exercise.
The training jam yesterday was a success, lot of drilling, lots of fun. Very tiring.

As far as what I have been working on. Mainly the same, just drilling my flips, flow (need to get more of that) I have been taking it light lately. need to go back to CF more often.
Filming for Refuze tomorrow, should be a good workout.

Yesterday,

went out with pete to get some footage for Refuze, we are filming a youtube commercial for them, coming out pretty slick I must say.
During the shooting a did several front and side flips, some kongs, cat, other vaulting, sprinting. Nothing to be consider a great workout but none the less served as training.
I did some playing with the silk today at the circus, I dont think I like the silk, I dont think the silk likes me much either.

What a day...

Met David to get his part of the Refuze video, it is going to be sexehhhhh... very...

Then met with Pete to get the rest of my footage for the demo, or what is the same a 3 hours session.
Pretty much hit half of all the spots in Kane, shot at the mall and all. Ran a lot to get the transitional shoots.
Some interesting reaction while trying to kong over a long lava rock, my footing was off and I didnt want to stutter so I just took off with my other leg, I never drill that, have never practiced it, but it came out very natural, not as powerful or comfortable but I didnt freak out. Happened a few times, since I was filming I really wanted to have elegant footing, but I still had to do it again cause due to change of angles, the shots I had done before I took off with my regular foot so I had to match but I was very happy to notice that I naturally adjusted my take off and was effective anyway.

I did the cat and the bank going over the 3 different steps, there is a vid in here somewhere. Hadnt done it for a long time, I forgot how much intensity and full speed I really need to make it, I have to literately go full speed to be able to cat the ledge, after I got it though, I did reach it way more than last time. Pretty happy about that. I do have to work on my climb up, it wasnt that bad considering that I was very tired but it was pretty slow. I just need to drill it more.

Went to the school, got some nice dash on rails which I never drill, I rarely do dash period but they felt nice.
Did some side flips over some hand railing and those were awesome, after the first one Pete which Pete spotted me, I was all out. Pretty tired by then and still performed very good.
Very happy about how this is going to come out, cant wait to finish it.

I am very tired, it felt like I just went out for a jam by myself, hit  lot of spots, had a lot of funny silly filming  moment, people just turning as I was running that made it nicely into the film.
This should be finally out on sunday. I am very happy about it.

CF WOD

As many in 3 minutes

3 power clean 135#
6 push ups
9 squads

rest one minute
5 sets. (15 mins)

I have no clue how many I did total, but I kept it consistent and went looking for great form.
Afterward I worked on climbs ups, I believe to have discover the secret to a quicker, more effective and powerful climb up.

I used to pull myself up and then pop to place my hands on top, ending with my chest down on the wall ledge.
Today after a few drills, I tried something different.

First when pulling up, almost at the peak I started to pull backward as if doing a kong to gain more distance. Feeling the fingers slide of the wall towards me, I ended up finishing on top almost with arms already straight. Like everything, it is a matter of repetition to find what works best for you, due to that change my climbs ups seemed a lot faster and smoother. I need to continue to drill this as I only did it for a little while.

I will test this theory more and see the results.

Before leaving I did a few precision on to a rail, from a slanted higher angle, I need to start doing more rail precision again, its been a while. Drill, drill, drill.

So I was looking forward to go to the gym last night, got there, everything was going great, I was doing some drills, warming up, some vaulting. The time for flips came around and I started all nicely, some side flips, front flips.

I was working on side flip from stationary and facing forward, everything was fine, getting them better and better.

I want to try it off of the bar, I did it, everything one, over rotate a bit, landed on the mat and POP, I hear it, felt it, regret it right that second. I immediately knew I had AGAIN sprained my ankle, not just a simple sprained but a bad one. Got up hit the mat with anger knowing what was about to happen. I was like "why?" I just simple over rotated a bit and rolled. But well, I blame the mat.

The next 6 months of my life went through my head like a fast forward movie.
Rest, upper body conditioning, ankle conditioning, small flow,  and then the great feeling of doing flips after I work on building up courage again.

2 times in one year, this is just bull shit.
The paper is coming to our next jam, what a way to rep, someone in a boot talking about how safe PK is.

So I finally got some conditioning.

I went to the beginning of the jam to meet with the reporter and to take care of the upper body conditioning.

Did several push ups drills, hard to explain in detail. Shoulder work and abdominal workouts. Got a pretty good burning and sweat, it was fun.

Foot is still swollen and colory. I tested it a bit, and can manage to put some weight on it so there is some improvement.
I will continue to use the crutches until I can safety and comfortably walk with it.

Thanks a million girl, and no kidding the crutches do work your arms endurance. Pretty funny I try to actually elevate myself as much when walking to try to workout.

No frustrations, only opportunities, my upper body will be stronger than before and this will make me work on my footing and being light on my feet when I come back.

I was messing a bit today with one bare footed climb up. The theory above was right, but instead of waiting to start reaching for the peak, I start pulling up and forward from the start. Lot faster and smoother. I did it the old way and then the new, the new was much more faster.
