Ya know, the thing that people do with their legs when they start to get tired, it's kinda like they are trying to swim through the air, and it's quite funny to watch

Check out the FAQ post that I made earlier, then watch the Eva teaches kipping video. It's actually not as easy as it looks to get it to flow so that each rep leads into the next.

kipping may not be the "right" way for many weightlifting gurus, but in parkour, you dont dont do climb up related stuff in a slow manner that only engages your arms. you use everything when you do a cat climb up, which is more closely related to kipping pull ups. kipping pull ups and cat climb ups are both highly coordinated movements that achieve maximum power output.

actually a kip to the true sense of the thing is completely different than a cat climb. yes purpose is similar execution is essentially close to opposite though a lift as opposed to a push.

(btw cheetah that's a damn fast 400m time!) Thankyou , I love to run (but I really hate the 400, it's just my best race ) my goal for this year is a sub-50, I know it's a lot to shoot for, but I like setting my goals high

Just a few questions How do you mesure vertical leap, is there anyway to do it by yourself,or do you need a second person?. when you jump is this including tucking your legs up, or is it just jumping?. Last thing, can you get a running start or just jump from standing?

Well one of the ways I know of is wuite simple. You just stand parallel to a wall with one of your arms extended upward as high as you can reach (against the wall), then you mark you spot where you hand is on the wall with a piece of tape or something. Then you put your hand back and jump as high as you possible can (against the wall) try to get your hand as high as possible on the wall, have a friend watch you do this and mark the spot that you reached with your hand. The measure between your first mark and your top mark is your vertical jump. Now I'm sure that there are some other really good ways out there, but this is all I could find buried deep in the storage closets of my mind .
