first try ever at tabata. 1st round was fine. everything following=suck.  Smiley in a good way though. i also made use of a long wooden post with a big block of concrete attached for jump shrugs.

Sunday:
-Tabata pull ups
13, 6, 6, 5, 6, 4, 4, 3
total: 47

-5x5 jump shrugs (10 sec rest in between sets)
load: no clue-'twas heavy though.

had a late start for school today, so i got to sleep in a bit. (which means 8.5 hours..Tongue) had to terminate a set one rep early on squats-wasn't sure i could make it, though i went the full 5 in my final set, so cross off that goal. presses are getting there; very gradually. i kept the weight lower on rows since i'm trying to get a better feel for using the barbell.

Tuesday:

-4x5, 1x4 back squat
loads: 135-185-235-245(4)-245

-5x5 barbell row
loads: 155x3x5-165-165

-3x5, 2x3 db press
loads: 70-80-90-100(3)-100(3)

Short Term Goals:

5x275 back squat
5x275 deadlift
5x100 db press
5x+40 dips
5x180 db row

Short Term Goals:
5x275 back squat
5x275 deadlift
5x100 db press

progress still holding steady. I've decided that i will be throwing weighted pull ups into the mix on tuesdays, while doing barbell rows on thursday and saturday from now on.

Deadlifts felt great form wise; everything was tight and opened together. bar never floated away. my grip is definitely improving-a couple weeks ago i had a little trouble holding 255, but today 265 felt ok. I'd also like to add that my 225 wu really felt like a warm up. dips were feeling pretty good, and rows are improving.

Thursday:
-5x5 deadlift
loads: 135-225-265x3x5

-5x5 bb row
loads: 155-160-165x3x5 (will probably stick at this next time before trying for more weight)

-5x5 dips
loads: bw-20-25-30-30

-2x15 face pulls (8.5 plates)

Short Term Goals:
5x275 back squat
5x275 deadlift
5x100 db press
5x+40 dips
5x175 bb row

rest today. after tuesday's workout, i won't be able to lift again until saturday because i will be driving to Wisconsin to take a look around the campus and visit my cousin. So instead of two squat days, i'll just do one squat, one deadlift. And i would like to note that, when i started this linear progression, when my body recovered the next day, i would see more (relative term here) facial hair. As time has passed, there has been a smallish amount of that, but my chest, which had very, very little hair before, has gotten downright fluffy compared to what it was previously. Grin

good workout today. accidentally made a 20# jump on squats because i was distracted, yet i managed to get all 5 reps; so a pleasant surprise. i backed down 10# after. Also, i did dips instead of presses today, as i ended up tweaking my right upper trap when i cracked my neck this morning. it still hurts a bit. my trip to madison is coming at the right time, as deadlifting will be difficult if i have to deal with this.

Tuesday:
-5x5 back squat
loads: 135-185-245-265-255

-5x5 bb row (these felt pretty fast throughout)
loads: 155-155-165x3x5

-5x5 dips (getting some air on bw ones)
loads: bw-20-25-30-30

Short Term Goals:
5x275 back squat
5x275 deadlift
5x100 db press
5x+40 dips
5x175 bb row
