I've had a good number of injuries, the best of which were shoulder surgery and my recent (and ongoing) broken foot. The best I can suggest is find whatever it is that you can do, and do that. Sounds stupid but it's the only real answer. When I had my shoulder surgery, this meant a lot of one-arm dumbbell work, squats, etc. With a broken foot, I'm stuck with handstands, pull-ups and dips. I switch between low-rep strength type workouts and higher-rep efforts for some semblance of conditioning. If your weight is getting out of hand, adjust your diet...I suggest the Zone:
http://www.drsears.com because it's easy to figure out a precise number of one thing or another that you need based on LBM And activity level.
Good luck!
