Hello this is important! I am going to be having a meeting this Wednesday with the head fundraiser of a skate park that will be building here in TEXAS. This I feel is a big step in the development of Parkour. The park is being built for skateboard but I will be meeting with the representative to try to create some designs that we can incorporate into the park to create Parkour style obstacles. I am super excited about all of this but I would like to call upon some true artists that might be able to get this done. I am not an artist by far but I would love for some people to throw around some ideas on paper and post it or email it to me. I will give you the rendering of the park now. There are two and they have not chosen one yet. I would definitely like the second rendering so that we have much more to work with. I would love to see a person submit anything that emphasizes Vaults foremost, cats, gaps, tick tacks, precisions to precisions and of course combinations of each. Like vaults to precision and gap to cat, precision to cat ETC. http://s36.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=245ZRLH3MGE0B3IK86W97JJJR7

Hmmm, what exactly are you asking for? I don't think it takes an artist to make up some Parkour obstacles, but if you need a bit of creative help, I'll see if I have time to sketch a few ideas down for you once I get home this evening

just think of things that people would use duh lol. Like kongs to precision or things to pop and climb, or mostly moveable sturdy light objects along with some large walls etc. for custom fit to however a person wants because I know a lot of people with different intrests in parkour than I. Just a thought.

If you think of explicit parkour obstacles your gonna come up with rails and walls, thats it and frankly you can find that anywhere, if your gonna try to expand to avoid that and have moveable convertable obstacles your gonna have a gym, again nothing new. Try to take inspiration from your own favorite hotspots, look at mundate architecture that happens to be great for parkour although not intended to be, picture the perfect pk heaven type of architecture, in other words, something thats a little different, something thats not just the ideal environment for specific moves. What I mean by this is instead of envisioning something thats easy to use and holds no extra variables, try to create something thats an obstacle, that will require creative pk problem solving to traverse. Take for example, the Dame du Lac (that giant tan fin shaped thing in France that David Belle and them folks are always jumping on in footage. It's not a typical shape or style but it can be used for some of the greastest parkour because it is different and inspires creativity. It's this principle that always makes public art pieces throughout cities so good for parkour, they're different.
In fact, just look at the rest of the park, for skateboarding, its filled with odd shapes like funboxes and stairs with rails sticking out of them, all stuff that can be used creatively in all sorts of different ways.
Just something to think about, oh and let me just say, this is really awsome, what you've got going, I mean if this pulls through you'll be doing something totally revolutionary. It's been talked about alot, but I've never heard of it actually being put into effect.

I think you should try to do some copies of you favorite hot spots, but give em a cool twist y'know? Like, if your hot spot has a cool place where there are good kongs, then make it like the same but add in a little flare. Also, lets say that you were thinkin of puttin a box type thing some where, make the box a cool shape or something. Make it so it looks intriguing to people who have never been there before. Also, I know you must have at least one perfect setup in you mind, ( like a tic tac to something in the perfect position for grabbing purposes ) Also, i don't know if you have played American wasteland yet, but you can make your own graffiti tags and i was thinkin if you come up with a good tag then you could put it in a place where most people enter. That way, they might be like, "parkour??? what the crap is a parkour???", then you could tell them and might get them interested, get it .
