should this be in movement? i dunno, but gutters are evil how do you deal with them, some are sharp, they're too weak to hang on and some are pretty wide

i don't think i would ever recommend climing on gutters in the first place.
unless they're the crazy metal tube kind, those can be pretty useful for climbing up the sides of small buildings.

Uh... Most gutters will break if you try to grab onto them. Simple advice is to not.

LOL! Why did you ask if you got smacked in this face last time you tried grabbing a gutter, it would seem obvious that it wouldn't work.

The talk of gutters reminds me of the beast coast jam. At skippers house a hackey sack got stuck on the roof, so some kid tryed to climb onto the roof, and he like tore the gutter off.

Yeah, why are you asking?
If it hit you int he face, then don't do it. Done. It's like the mouse and the 2 doors-one electrified, and one not.
And I don't mean to yell at you specifically, but im tired of people asking these kinds of questions-and for this reason: USE COMMON SENSE
If you hadn't known about parkour, you would look at a gutter and (hopefully) think, LOGICALLY: "Hm, a gutter...I'm pretty sure that it's thin metal and will bend/and or break of I hang from it." Things like this and others, like people asking how they should vault over a spiked gate: "well, I know the gate is sharp on top, so I shouldnt put my body on it (gate vault), otherwise I might get stabbed."
Point is, a bunch of people on the internet, having some knowldge of parkour aren't going to help you learn how to defy the laws of physics.
Parkour is not only learning about the environment in which you utilize(since the physical properties nor the laws of physics change for them), but it's also about learning how YOUR body works and functions in each situation. It's a LEARNING process, that no matter how many times you ask people, read replies, watch videos, or think about it will be do-able until you go out there and try it yourself.
So go out. Practice. Use common sense. and improve.

im asking what to do if there is a gutter in the way....and when i grabbed the gutter it was a last ditch option. either slip off the roof and land awkwardly or grab the gutter, instinct kicked in and decided not to face plant into cement
ps-i feel like a total tool the way this went, no me gusta sounding like an air head lolz

Its like if you see a giant gap that is too far to jump over..... you just have to find another way around it, simple.
Im not sure what answer you were looking for, we cant make your gutters stronger. What you CAN do is make your other movements faster so you can go around it quicker.

I used a gutter to get up once You gotta be careful, but if you need a little extra boost on a wallrun (upwards), you can use them to help move upward and get high enough to "flop" your torso on the surface on top. You can't put your full weight on it, but you can push down a little if you are already moving upwards. It's not graceful, but it gets the job done.

Seriously, check your surfaces. If you want to train on gutters, test it and make sure it could hold your weight, they were not made for people hanging off of (but then again, I suppose the vast majority of the stuff we mess withwas never meant to be used for that function). I doubt you will find many, if any at all. Try your hardest not to rip them off the roof, thats destruction of property. And be very safe and check everything through your course before attempting anything on it. Make sure rails are not loose, walls wont fall down, etc. I know this is only an opportunity afforded when training, and in your defense I will say that in a life or death or pursuit matter, the only option you may have will be the gutter, so if you want to train on how to efficiently get over them, I say go for it. Just keep in mind safety and property while you are doing it.
