well sadly(for my health) im probably the more reckless one in the group that i PK with, and i tend to try things with little planning sometimes, and then when when i barely pull it off the guy next to me is like wow im gonna try that, this becomes a problem beacuse since we train together fairly often we all know each others skills pretty well, and when i see someone try to copy what i did it usually concerns me because when they do it, it might not turn out as well since i was going beyond my own skill level.
But on the flip side i think your story brings up a big issue that isn't talked about so much, comeptition and group mentality.
usually when in front of a group of peers a person tries to perform better than their own abilities may allow them to in an attempt to do their best, this goes for any group of people doing any activity, and similarily in PK alot of people at jams try to make the "big jumps" and do things that are really impressive, even if it means pushing themselves much farther then they can actually handle going.
in conclusion i think it is important for everyone to recognise their own PERSONAL limits, and while pushing your limits and going 110% is an important part of being a traceur, its just plain not smart to attempt things that you are way outside of your league in, both mentally and physically.

yeah, the "ill do it if you do it" mentality isnt ver safe...on the other hand it pushes others to try harder

I remember once I did a 7-8 foot dive roll. A football player saw me and tried it, which was basically a frontflip landing on his shoulders, after I asked him not to because of safety and that he had never rolled before . Kurokaze I have a story about that. I had a friend who i wanted to introduce t Pk. We went out after school to train and I showed him how to do a lazy vault. Then i stated doing turn vaults. He said let me try that and before I could stop him he did one. He banged his knees and shins against both parts of the bar and had two long black bruises on each leg.

Yeah, I've been very afraid I would kill some little kid several times. I go to a park near where I live to train and somtimes there are little kids there too and they start to imitate me. One time I had to tell a kid not to try somthing cause it was "very scary" to do some of the things I was doing, because I was afraid he was going to try them and hurt himself. And I keep wondering what there moms think when their kid starts imitating me....

I'm mostly afraid of little kids watching me/us. Kids will try things that they see and I think that's pretty dangerous. Teenagers and adults... I don't have too much of a problem with them imitating and hurting themselves. Most of them should be smart enough to know that this kinda thing takes some degree of training. Ultimately, it's their fault. Children are a diferent story.

Im scared of it all the time. No way to stop them except try and convince them they shouldn't try it without proper training first.
Also, If I know its something I can do that others would like to try and fail, I usually keep it to myself untill everyone is gone or not watching.

good topic. My friend at work hurt her leg pretty bad trying a big jump but people will do what they do.
I have a natural tendency to be safe in how I move but i have seen a lot of people doing the "i can do what that guy does" not realising that i've been working on coordination and conditioning for years. I try to educate people and offer to teach them when I can.

i have this huge caslte like thing i train on, its got virtually every possible vault jump climb ne thing, the thing is lil kids see me and imitate me, i tell them to stop and actually stop doing wat im doing to make sure some of em don't get hurt, but for the real stubborn ones that wont listen all i can do is teach them the proper way to land from jumping and let em be

Don't really have that problem in my group. Our first rule is "If you don't feel comfortable don't do it" Everyone follows it. Today we did vaults to a ten foot drop and two of our guys became apprehensive. We spent an hour on lower drops increasing to higher drops while working roll techniques. Only one of them felt confident enough tothe ten footer. The other watched and worked other areas of the school. Safety is NCPK's number 1 priority.
I Don't worry about little kids. When ever we go to an area parents usually leave after 15 mins. Although there have been super close calls. We were konging picnic tables and some 3 year old pops out of nowhere. Can't do much when you are already in the air. Barely missed the kid. Is there are word for stuff like that? Some code for "hey, look out a little kid!" Probably not. They never imitate us. Just watch. Teenagers make fun of us and adults want us to leave.
