curiosity... when did the tendancy to choose a certain traceur name come in to play? seems like every video you see the people have some snazzy alias they go by.

maybe its just because we post our videos on the internet, and people might not want to post there real names. i just use my nicknname. but it could just be that we all secretly want cooler names than our real ones...

I'm going with the need for internet pseudonyms. I personally ended up with this name after using it on Ebay. I don't like to have a million usernames and passwords, so I just kept it when I originally signed onto UF. Now it's stuck.

Why do you think we all do parkour? It's us playing out our desires from childhood of being a superhero :p And what's a superhero without a cool name? But seriously? What gear said, internet pseudonym thing. Since a lot of traceurs found out about parkour / met up with other traceurs via the internet, it played out like any other forum you find on the internet [ok, except for maybe crossfit :p].

I got branded Uno by other people in my first jam, so I just stuck with it. It also helped because there was already another Joe.

That's why I kept my nickname. My friend called me FireFly because I kept on listening to this song called Firefly, and he said that should be my nickname (I didn't really like it, but it WAS better than my real name).

My name just carried over from my dj alias. I'm glad nobody actually calls me Reaktor in plain conversation.

I think a lot of people are telling you the origins of their names rather than answering the question, though the answer has come up. It's simple. This is the internet. People KNOW who one another is by their internet aliases and not their real names. So in a video, if you put your real name, most people aren't going to know who you are. As opposed to your alias, where people would instantly be able to recognize it. Most of the time, it's not this stupid idea of anonymity or some "superhero fascination." It's simply because it's easier.

SO anyway i do my own blend of moves and right now i am still to imature of a traceur to worrie compleatly about effency wile training. So FreeStyleFox is my handel. Still getting used to it inperson tho.

My nickname is Theivv, I won't tell you why, but I don't use it. In fact at jams everyone calls me Patrick, or Pat. With the occasional Theivv when I pull off a nice theif vault.

Haha, yeah i thought I had a pretty dope forum name with a clever reason behind it. Then I went to my first jam and heard everyone fumbling to pronounce it, and changed it to just my real name, well my first and middle names.

I've been dubbed many things. When I use to spin my DJ alias was Kid Data. Then it became Kid Data Bass, then Digital Kid, then That Original Digital Kid: Data. needless to say I had/have many pot head friends with an endless ammount of time on their hands. ........ the shit that they come up with. Never been given a PK traceur name, I'd assume if I were to become a hardcore, bad-ass, supa fly, mad dope phat stoopid skilled traceur I could depend on you guys to give me one!!!!....... but that wont be happening any time soon
