If that day comes... protest it!
Ask them, why are they banning movement? that will tie their tongue and make them think about how stupid it was for them to ban it.
This country is so f*cking anal.
There really is no freedom anymore, it's all about control.
the moms don't want their children doing this so they say ban it, but that them getting involved in anothers life and banning their lifestyle.
They need to ban alcoholism and gangs, f*cking stuck ups.
I'm getting angry, it's time a stop typing.
There's a couple things that I don't agree with here. First; the protest. I seriously doubt that protestation would do anything to deter lawmakers, unfortunately. Second, asking them why they are banning movement? As much as that
should make logical sense, it won't. Not to people who want to believe the other way. It won't make a scratch in their bigotry.
I agree with the anal part.
As for the freedom and control thing, it's always been like that. Only, it was less noticeable because the government a) didn't give a damn about things or b) didn't have the means to do anything if they
did give a damn about things.
I agree with the moms part.
But banning alcohol, or gangs, or drugs, or whatever is supposed to be (or is) bad, well... doesn't work. Look at the ban on drugs, for instance. There's all sorts of violent crime and other such stuff that sprouted up along with the ban on drugs. (Note that I'm not advocating for drugs. I have never done drugs, and I know that they are bound to screw up your body and/or mind inevitably.) The point is, there's a delicate balance between a government that doesn't do enough and a government that does too much.
As far as I see it, there is absolutely no way to balance peoples' rule and government in a way that would stop people from constantly screwing each other over. Anarchy would never work, not in such large numbers. Anarchy would only work in the form of communalism, which could never be possible in such a large country as America. And strong government control would never work either, not unless the government goes all Oceania-tastic on us.
So I think the best thing for us is that the government maintains its current fundamental suckage. Cuz if it didn't suck fundamentally in the same way it does now, then it would probably just end up sucking
more in the long run, really. So I finally concede; I doth loveth thee, O Sucky Government.
Wow. I got really off-topic.
Anyway, I think it's too early in the development of parkour as a widespread practice to say anything. It could end up bearing more superficial resemblance to skateboarding (i.e. "urban sports") or it could end up bearing more resemblence to martial arts (i.e. cultivated practices/arts,) so the societal reception of parkour in the future is pretty much unreadable for right now.
