i feel more comfortable trying to do backflips before frontflips, but im wondering if theres some type of thing i can do on the ground before trying the actual backflip, like frontflips you get on your knees, and hop a little bit and roll, that apparently helps you tuck quickly, is there some type of thing i can learn like that, but for a backflip?

A good spotter or a trampoline are your best bets to learn.

Though there are drills you can practice. For the tucking part, Lie on your back, with your hands at your sides, body straight. Simulating the jump, throw your hands straight back above your head, and as soon as the backs of your hands hit the ground, Tuck hard. You should rock back quite a bit onto your upper back.

But yeah, watch some tutorials, then get yourself a spotter.
