We're trying to build a nationwide database of Hotspots, that way they're all in one place. If you ever go traveling to a new city, you can look up what and where the best places to train are.

Lonnie i see where you're trying to take this but after posts saying just go to pkcali or go to SFPK isn't going to do anything for this board. I like what Zach is thinking that would be a great idea and I am in to help any way i can! It would be nice to get people posting in this section more often.

I think the ease of use of a centralized hot spot map is better, BUT I think the accuracy of local hot spot maps will be higher.  Locals should typically post local spots, as they are the most up to date and more intimate with the areas.  While the division doesn't necessary prevent "outsiders" from posting on local maps, the fact they are separated should help.  My vote would be to keep going with the community listings in each state, and have local hot spot maps that go with each community listing.

hopefully i understood that correctly. I like the idea of having a nation hotspot but it should be more broad for example "Del Mar" but then in the state hotspots have it like certain areas/schools/etc. input guys?

When traveling for Parkour, it's best to go to the website where most locals are. Most Californians are on pkcali and SFPK. Areas in between can get a little gray, but the people there will at least be able to point you in the right direction and fill you in on how scenes are. Besides, meeting the people is 90% of the fun of traveling, not just the actual spots.

I like this. Best to go to local forums based on where you are traveling. How about a huge thread with a directory for all local forums?

That's what I'm pushing for!

Use the CA one as the model.  Keep it nice and simple.  http://www.americanparkour.com/smf/index.php/topic,20776.msg249600.html#msg249600

Lonnie i see where you're trying to take this [...]

Don't make Lonnie out to be some spokesman. Simply put, he is just trying to give you information, and it just so happens that PKCali has that info, not APK. No need to be inefficient and waste energy by putting up redundant information. Personally, I think that if I was to travel to a new area I would be posting on the local forum for that area, not a national forum. But wait, what if I don't know of the local forum for the area I'm visiting, and I can't find it? Oh I know, I'll look on APK's local forum directory! That's what I'd do, but there is no directory by my understanding. That's why there should be a directory, with no strings attached. It would definitely help the growth of the American community.

You're not the one getting the complaints unless you are?
Sure it's redundant but ask Ozzi he makes all sorts of these topics inside the Hawaii board.
Im done with this argument it's pissing me off. David do you even live in California?

I do not live in California. But i mainly go on PkCali, more than any other forum and i care for the community of Cali very much. I wasn't trying to argue with you, so no hard feelings. My  point in the discussion is that APK should have a directory.

I understand if you don't agree with me. I find that local communities are just as important as national or global communities. They are what make up the national communities if you think about it. In favor of APK having local community directory.
