Hey everyone,

I just finished putting together my 2009 showreel, which is made up of footage from mostly between now and the summer... I've been training for over two and a half years now, and I wanted to show my progression from last year.

I hope you enjoy, and remember to train hard and be safe!

how do you work on absorbing impact while in handstand?  Like that tic tac into handstand was pretty controlled and everything, but did it put an extra strain on you to the point doing to many of those might cause an injury?  I was just curious how you're absorbing the impact of catching yourself with your arms..

Thanks everyone. I've been working on flow and foot placement this last year, I think it payed off.

To answer your questions...

Ozzi & Ashley: The backpack is the Camelback Octane XC. I got it online for about $50, but I'd say it's worth it. Every scene in my showreel where I'm wearing it, I had my phone, wallet, ipod, and about up to about a liter of water in there- even in the scene where I dive roll with it.  The side pockets are great, if you put your stuff in the pocket on the side you roll over, it won't get damaged (since you're rolling over your opposite side). Obviously your rolling technique might be different and you want to be sure before you put anything valuable in there.
Here's a site that has it for $45

Ryan F: I absorb the impact from handstand jumps by bending my elbows (just like you'd bend your knees for a precision) and using my shoulders to bring my body lower... I do handstands pretty often and train them a lot so my shoulder muscles and triceps are pretty strong.  To condition try doing handstand pushups (against a wall if you need balance), and like everything else in parkour and freerunning start with small jumps and gradually build up.

Andy: Definitely, it's always great training with you too man.  Let me know whenever you're nearby.

Thanks again for the comments guys!

Awesome stuff, Thomas. I love your movement. So fluid but powerful. Can't wait to train with you again some time.

Charles, let me know whenever you come to NYC... I actually go to college in PA so I'm not in NYC most of the time, but send me a message just in case!

And Adam, it would be awesome to do some training again with you some time.

Thanks again for the compliments everyone! I also noticed that on the video the last part ("See you in 2010") got cut off for some reason, might have been a problem uploading or something. I don't fell like reuploading it though lol, so I think I'm just gonna leave it like that

He's at Franklin & Marshall, in Lancaster. I think we all want to come out to Philly sometime next spring if you have an event. Wink
