Meh, i need someone to show me how to do round-offs correctly, i may be good looking but i sure am a shitty tumbler! Ended up working mostly on the bars.I dont know what the flip is called...(i see it everywhere but dont know the name) Next time i want to work on gainers and losers from a stand still, round-offs again,, BHS, and this bar-flip. The gym is more fun when you're not the only person in the place...

no conditioning tonight

YesterdayOpen Gym. Stayed for like 2 1/2 hours Taught my brother and our friend to do backflips(into the foam pit, they had never flipped before) Well my bro didnt get over the fear. Met a guy from school who has a great base to start from. LearnedGainers Practiced the bar-flip Losers were eh a lot more difficult than i figured...someday... TodayMMA open gym Did lots of bag work, working combinations and kicks Practiced stand-up for about an hour Left Knee started to swell no idea why, dont remember dropping on it or any trauma or instances in which it would have twisted etc... so sat the rest of gym out(i was beat anyway, hard week) Came home and iced it. Ill ice again before bed.

Wednesday MMA work on jamming, i.e. moving into strikes to jam opponents striking area. Practiced jamming against jabs and hooks, then moving it into a thai clinch. Other than that i RESTED.
Thursday Took a trip up to Raven Rock to set up balance places for the "Western MD Wilderness Workout" on sunday Had some great movement training, its been too long. School takes up sooo much time, i dont think ill go next semester. Five-fingers, i've found that shoes are no longer comfortable. Also my shoe size has increased in the time i havent been wearing any...
Today Battling off the final effects of this sickness. Good nap this afternoon(up late last night doing lab work) First Krav Maga class. Did knife defense. First defense was a simple "x" pop against a low attack, along with a stomp kick to the knee. Second was a "shield turn" with a blow to the eyes or groin, then a shove to the back and then you jet. Third was the same shield turn but catch the wrist, hug the elbow, take them down by leaning into their shoulder and dropping onto your left hip. then remove the knife, towards the thumb. Or bash their hand off of the fucking ground...that is if you didnt break their arm in the lock... Put the knife in their neck and get away.
I really want to pursue both krav maga and MMA but it will be difficult to balance them with class, as well as the fact that i will have to pick up another job(it would be another $60 a month). i would have: MMA mon, wed, saturday, Krav maga fridays Class mon/wed until 2 tues/thurs /fri until 11
I would like to have sunday to rest for the upcoming week and do homework. So i could only pick up hours on Tuesday thursday and saturday. If i get the job at fedex, i could work the norm 3 5hr shifts, and this would fit perfectly.

Monday and Wednesday Taught My friend the basics of Kettlebell work(one of my favorites) First workout for him was good, he did well. Second workout also went well. Hes also start GTG on pull-ups so we'll see how that goes. Im really trying to stress the importance of balancing work and rest and proper stretching. His diet will be his hardest hill to climb, but he seems devoted so i think he'll get past it.
MMA Wall-grappling, not my fave thing. Practiced take downs against the side of the cage, with a leg sweep and a double leg. Today was getting up off of the wall from a sitting position. We pushed our hips up from the guard, pushed the head, over hooked the arm and shrimped out away from the head.
Tuesday REST Stretching
My colleges AT told me i have high arches, and the easiest way to combat this would be to stretch my calf muscles more and focus on correct form. Hopefully this helps since i used to get calf pain when running barefoot.

Friday Gym Practiced: Bar-flips, gainers, rail balance, and flipping from rails, palm flips, back fulls, layouts.
Back Layouts: practiced landings by doing them into precisions. Gainers:got layouts for the first time, practiced spotting my landings Back fulls: Cant get much farther than a 180* spin. Will this come with time and practice? or i suppose it could be a form issue, ill post a vid next time i go.
Krav Maga Worked on more punch defense reviewed the wave strike/throw from last week This week we learned a wave strike to head turn(the nice word for neck crank/snap) Same set up as before, stepping toward and to the side of the punching arm, wave strike. use the wave strike to push attackers head to your opposite shoulder, reach around his head. PLace 2 fingers across his upper lip, putting pressure on his nose cartilage. as you do this you are huggin his pucnhing arm to your chest. Step your front foot back 270*, turn your hips to follow your feet, he WILL go down. maintain control of his arm, drop kness into his ribs/back. then we did Circle of Death against, knives, punches, and chokes. (the more experienced guys got to do guns too, i was jealous)
Tomorrow Soccer try-out I thought my soccer career was history, but a coach is having me tryout for a new semi-pro team...
Saturday night/ Sunday Staying at Primal Fitness for the night, Then ballin out to Old Rag for the parkourific hike! Damn im psyched...

Well its been a while since i've updated...
Planche is coming along well, been GTG with static holds and an exercise im not sure what to call... Control and balance have improved greatly. Can hold straddle planche now.
I've been practicing a lot of QM and gorilla gait, as well as weird floor exercises to improve Flexibility and strength. Dabbling with FL practice.
Old rag trip was sweet. Jumped off the rocks into a freezing cold stream afterward... Krav Maga last week was gun disarms which are lots of fun. Did the 80/20 disarm, and the same 80/20 but his wrist against the chest. RCAT.
Western MD Wilderness Workout was scheduled for last sunday, ended up not being so wilderness, and it was also only me and Lyle. But it was a gnarly jam and we ended with a nighttime trip to the cliffs to jump into some really cold water. Oh and never forget chipotle
MMA this week was workout on monday then some clinch work and on wednesday, Foot work.
Today Gym Did some flow/vault work on the beams. Practiced back layouts, gainers(tucked and layout), fronts. Did QM(my new favorite thing and practiced hardfalls, rolls, back rolls, and random self defense/MMA stuff
Krav Maga Tonight we did all kinds of stuff. Did more punch defense: this time with a circular deflection then a head turn or lapel choke. Headlocks: Turn in posture up, groin shots, head, eyes, hook the nose and stand. Worked a bit from the guard as well: attacker is choking you, break the hands by coming from your stomach up between them, scratch the shit out of his eyes, when he recoils kick him in the face. Or get hooks in his legs, pull him close(ears, thumbs in eyes etc.) and spread eagle him, sweep over with a head turn, base HIGH UP on the chest , use his face and chest to get up, stomp him...
Tomorrow MMA 11-12:30 And then jam in downtown frederick
Sunday Jam at McDaniel College hosted by P.E.C.C.
