I do not post here often but I felt I should post my thanks to parkour.
A few years ago I was diagnosed with an intestinal disease that left me unable to do many things. I could barely walk, I could not use my arms to much, and I was so malnurished that I was as white as a piece of paper. I was always doing vaults, climbing things, and the sort since I was about three years old. I moved and my life changed because I stopped doing all of that stuff. When I was sick all I wanted to do was to go climb a tree or vault over a rail or something but my body would not let me. I would fight with my doctor every week about going outside and doing something and he told me I should do nothing til I healed. So a summer later I was still feeling sick and I had no will to do anything. This year I had a huge flare and I was back to how I used to be. But I remembered taping Jump London and remembered all of the good times I had. I slowly started to build up my body by climbing rocks and jumping off of them. I started to get arm definition again. My legs were starting to come back. Now a few months later and I am almost perfectly healthy. I started out three years ago at 5'7'' and 95 pounds. Now I am 5'8'' and almost 130 pounds. I now only have ten more pounds to be of a healthy weight and I am just starting to be able to jump off of my rocks and roll. I run through the forests free doing precisions from tree branch to tree branch. If it was not for parkour then I would not be healthy like I am today and I have to thank all of you guys for posting on this forum so I have been able to get inspired to go out and do stuff. I am almost a brand new person now and I love it.
Thanks again, and for everyone who is just starting out don't give up because parkour will be one of the best things you could do for your body.
J

*high five* Parkour is the third most awesome thing in the world. Next to me and pancakes or course I actually think waffles are better, but good for you, just watch what you're doing and don't get carried away and do something you're not ready for.
