WaywardSoul, GREAT find.

Jmanndriver, I really hate to say things like this, but your impatience and inability to spell English words both limits your credibility and impedes on your transference of information to others.

I did type in the coordinates and they were not found. lmao. 48 degrees north and 2 degrees east. Is it that school or something?

Type 48°37'2.18"N, 2°25'8.29"E into the search bar in google maps. You'll see it. Zoom in all the way.

I know this thread is long dead, but I just didn't feel like starting a new one... Does anybody know if the Dame du Lac is still closed to the public?

Yes its off limits, but not always under survailance. You can go at certain hours of the day pretty safely as long as you dont stay too long.

It was closed because two people have died falling from it. One was definitely a climber, the other person MAY have been a Traceur. "Closed" means there is a fence around it, this fence can be seen being jumped in many of the French videos, it's about 6'6" and very easy to get over, especially for a traceur.

I believe that neither of the people who died were traceurs.  It happened to be closed sometime after the original Yamakasi were training there, but it was at that point heavily used for military training purposes and I think based on pure probability that the chances of either of the two having been traceurs is pretty slim.  It was reopened a few years back by the mayor of Lisses.  I forget whether it was David Belle and Sebastien Foucan (who were still together at this point) or two of the current Yamakasi who were there when it was officially reopened, but I'm pretty sure it was the Yamakasi.

That reminds me...  Mark, Dame du Lac would probably stand to be great for this book as part of the history section.  Do you know of any rights that need to be secured to run a picture of it?

Belle and Seb were both part of the original Yamakasi.
