Good thing everyone wanted you to elevate and ice your arms Ouch, that sounds very painful Mathew!!! Sorry to hear about this. Now, as for your shoulder, if you are actually seeking advice, my advice is that especially if it still hurts a few days later, go see a doctor. Secondly, icing it probably wouldn't hurt, nor would alternating ice and heat. Again, for any real diagnosis you'de need to be much more specific, where in your shoulder, when you move it or all the time, what movements hurt it worse, do you have limited range of motion? Is there any swelling or bruising? Shoulders are very complex things ...

Anything bruised in your shoulder is bruised from something straining to the point where it breaks. This is not good. I still advise you to go to a doctor. PLease don't be dissilusioned into thinking anyone here has helped you in any way, they haven't. If you are injured, you are injured, no amount of internet lovin will fix that.

Just make sure it's really healed, and dosn't just feel healed. Because something can feel healed and still be extremely susaptable (SP?) to being re-injured.

good point , also, i would def say rehab it. as for doctors and muscluloskeletal problems, i can tell you what they will say. sleep, let it heal, throw some NSAIDS and other pain killers in your body, and if its fractured, we'll cast it. , full range of motion buddy, get some friends to help if you can, dont move the arm yourself around, just have it relaxed and moved for you (passive range of motion), its been proven many times over to speed up healing, decrease scar tissue, and preserve muscle tone.
