Ok, so, Here's my situation.
fantasy class teacher assigned a project. We must re-create a scene from a book or movie and put it into video ourselves. However, one of my classmates (a traceur) and I (a traceur) decided to ask if we could create an entirely new scene. A Parkour chase scene. Our teacher accepted. We have many idea's and plenty of people to get it going. If you live nearby, you are totally welcome to join in as well. However, I was hopeing for MORE idea's to make it better.
so what do you think would make a good chase scene? Please reply every idea that could improve our production.

Why don't you tell us what you have going right now so we know what to improve on. We don't want to give you the same ideas that you've already thought up.

lol where do you live?

parkour can make awesome chase scenes - just make sure you add things that distinguish parkour from standard action film vaults and tic tacs that you generally see. an underbar would look good, so would precisions. and of course I've never seen an action movie character do a nice big kong (district b13 doesnt count)

1. I didnt want to give out what I already have because it would be harder for everyone to come up with other ideas. I wanted an array of various ideas from many people. But what I have now is this,
The main character will recieve an object of importance from a giver. However, the takers are the bad guys that want this object for themselves. There are many takers and they pursue the reciever. The takers will be dressed in a makeshift ninja suit, the main taker will have a skull mask over his face. Throughout the chase, many takers will fall from various obstacles that the reciever overcomes. The end of the movie will show the reciever jumping a large gap, the taker will stop just before the gap, and they glare at eachother, the reciever runs, and the taker stops pursueing.

2. I live in Rainier Washington, I wasnt planning on going big with the movie as it is only a small film for class. I am VERY limited on areas and everyone here and in the surrounding towns arent to kind about us running all over the place.

The Skull mask is actually pretty bad-ass looking with the ninja mask. It's only a half mask so it has no jaw. It works well.

The tux idea is cool, but way out my price range and reminds me to much of a Jackie Chan or James Bond movie lol.

I have also come up with the idea of making it a somewhat of a informative video of what parkour is, how it was started and the philosphy behind it. I will tell the history right before the movie starts, and I will tell why we do it at the end along with a couple paragraphs of "Get off our back" words for all those who hate us for what we do.

you should have the main character just have baggy pants and a t-shirt or something. it just seems like a good-guy thing to wear, especially if being chased by ninjas.

The baggy pants would be nice and if you could get information in it about parkour that flows that would be cool too. Smiley

How much does the skull mask affect visibility?  I would hate to do parkour if I could only see about 50% of what I normally could.  Undecided

depends on the mask - my suggestion is to do 2 things with it:

-try the move many times without the mask first, so its easier to work off memory if you cant see everything

- use a file or dremel to enlarge the eyeholes in the mask

you should definately use a ninja costume, if you are intersted just wear black sweatpants, a long sleeve black shirt and look at this tutorial for the mask
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e4NoKfrQ9tw

the reason i suggest this is because a ninja costume is always very flowly and smooth looking and would all around increase the watchability of the film, and i have used one before if you make it right it doesn't limit your vision at all
