If you're practicing rolling on carpet, do not wear socks. My knees just found that out the hard way. Just a little hop was enough to make me slip and get a serious case of rug burn. I might survive but just a fair warning.

Sorry, but this wasn't necessary. You don't need to post things like this unless they could really help prevent injury, and I don't think that this is a case that will apply to anybody at all. Sorry about your injury in any case.

I felt it was necessary because a slip could lead to worse. If you aren't expecting it you could roll wrong and hurt yourself or fall awkward and break or dislocate something. I've seen it happen believe it or not. Sorry about posting something "not worthy" of this site. I guess I'll take my business to another board where people appreciate a helpful reminder for what its worth.

Too bad you judged a whole board on one guy. Thanks for the tip, might be common sense to some, but who knows... I always thought jumping through windows as a bad idea was common sense as well until, well, someone showed me its not

Always people are so hasty to take things the wrong way. I meant no personal injury nor insult. It's not that I thought that your post was unworthy, I just thought that it was not particularly constructive. It seemed that your post was mostly just a means of reporting how you injured yourself. I also found that your point was kind of rhetorical; it was akin to saying, "don't slip," which is a given. To be more on topic, I practice rolls on carpet all the time with my socks, including jumping and rolling. I've never had a problem. One last note: if you're going to be bitter about a response that you get, i.e. "Sorry about posting something "not worthy" of this site. I guess I'll take my business to another board where people appreciate a helpful reminder for what its worth," then please, do go ahead and take your business elsewhere. I didn't appreciate your sarcasm nor your mocking response to what I thought was a reasonable post.

i did get a little too mad but i guess i post in a different way of others. I try to incorporate a little "humor" if you will in my posts. I wasn't explaining how i got hurt, but rather trying to warn others in a rather humorous way. Being a n00b compared to others, i felt the need to help my n00b brethren by a simple warning. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Back on topic, my carpets a little different. I've been walking and just kind of side stepped and slid. Its really slick and thick. Its rather old too so im sure that doesnt help either.

Wow, now we need a kindergarten teacher to police the intra-personal issues on the forums??? Overreaction to an overreaction is no more right than two wrongs. Glad you guys could finally hammer this out and nobody will be taking their "business" of posting on our free forums elsewhere

By the way, I appreciate the attempt at humor, and I'm glad to hear youll pull through your rug burn injuries in time for the holidays ... but please use titles that make it so that only people who need the info in the post read it ...
"Tip for noobs - son't wear socks and run on carpet" would have saved all the aggro in this thread.
Thanks!!

Lol thanks for the support. I'm almost out of the hospital. The doctors say i should be released to go home in 2 days but the rug burn won't heal for another week. And mind if i use that for a signature??
