Hey, My name is Mike so.. I was gonna move to CO previously, i didn't then, but I did now, and I want to learn Parkour.
I saw your classes are going on, but i've missed a lot of them I think, and i'm kinda shy i guess.. On the other hand, I really want to learn Parkour. Its something that I think would be really fun and at the same time good exercise.
So, what do you guys think?

Don't be shy! I have met so many great people through parkour. It would have been a great shame if I never took the time to meet them. You will find that everyone is helpful, friendly, and encouraging. If you want to learn parkour and make a ton of new friends while you are at it, come meet us! Classes start again in Denver next week. Boulder classes are going on right now. Keep an eye on the forums and COPK calendar/website for informal jams/meetups. Hope to see you around!

Don't worry about being shy, every master starts as a beginner. and one of my favorite things about parkour is the lack of competition, the opposite in fact. I can't say what the classes are like in Colorado, but in general it seems like everyone works together to make everyone better. My instructor Adam is buds with Ryan Ford and says he's a pretty chill guy so I figure you should check out the colorado parkour site and find out when you can join in.

Well where i ended up and am now is boulder, which makes a denver commute a bit difficult.
I just have always had a social anxiety when learning new things. I used to take a few martial arts and the first couple of classes were devastating for me because the feeling of being new amongst a bunch of people who were experienced was just a really awkward feeling. Makes you feel stupid. lol
Know what i mean?

Everyone in our fundamentals class is new so you don't have to worry about being behind. The experienced guys at classes are the instructors and the only reason they are there is to help you learn. Everyone is new at some point but we are all here to teach and encourage each other.

I might come check it out. As far as i know i'm behind by a couple of classes but i could come see.
How many people do you guys have in that class?
also... ever since i stopped being a dedicated freestyle skier i haven't been on the same training regimen, so I've been out of shape for a bit, is this going to affect me a lot?

We introduce new material every class so you will be in the same boat as everyone else. There are usually 10-15 in the fundamentals class. Being in shape will help you progress faster but our classes are also geared toward helping people become more fit. We have people attend who are anywhere from highly active to sedentary for years.
