You want your your legs to pass through the area where your arms 'used' to be... So your arms would realease from the object before your legs got to them..  The knees would come through first and the rest will follow, you dont really want them going in sideways..  I can clear an 8 foot table with a kong. I am 5'7". What is the longest anyone has cleared with just a kong?

My only problem when practicing kongs is I can never get my hips very high. When they do though, it's always way too high and I end up practically doing a very fast hand stand walk over the table or w/e I'm vaulting.

Well basically there are two ways to punch in for a Kong vault. You can do like a hurdle step where you do a quick step and then punch off of one foot or you can punch with both feet. The hurdle step tends to get you more distance and the two footed punch tends to get you more height. Which on do you use, and what exactly do you practice vaulting over?

I also just started, but I never used a bed or using something so soft and low.
I started with school desk, but I don't dare to kong it, because, it's just so easy to tip over, so I only do speed vault and turn vault on them.

Today, I've seriously practiced kongs, and now I can kind of do them. I started with fencing about 4 foot high. I can't really vault over them using any other vaults yet. So I practiced maybe almost 2 hours until it's really dark and I can't see at all. It first, I can only hit my toes into the fence. Then, I can jump on, and jump back off. After a few more tries, I can jump on and forward to go over it. By the end, I can comfortably jump over it with only my heels clipping it. I even cleared it a few times successfully without my feet touch it at all. So I guess that is a kong (My intention was kong and I did have a decently fast running start, so that would be kong, not monkey? But I did not end up jumping very far.) Well, I'm glad that I did it. That video really did help me a lot. But most inportantly is practice!
