I don't believe you can actually "run" on the wall horizontally for a long time. Maybe 2 or 3 steps.

Maybe you mean a tic-tac, which is basically just pushing off a wall with one foot to get over an obstacle (small set of stairs, garbage, etc.) or to one.

what i mean is that, how to perfect running 2-3 steps along a wall, ive seen people use it to jump over too high fences, theyll run up the side of the wall a few steps, then on the last step sort of tick-tack over the fence.

Start with one step then 2 then 3, after that if you are actually still on the wall i think you should move on to 4 but i have never seen more then 3 steps and most people just learn it on their own cause it is really hard to teach. Honestly look at how the Prince of Persia does it that is how i figured it out.

I've never actually found a practical use for this move out in the field, but I drilled it for like a month and actually landed 5 steps consistantly, so it's possible to get more than three, but anything beyond five just seems crazy.

How far were you getting horizontally, i can do 4 or 5 and make it really smooth but if i do 3 i can get about 6 or 7 feet horizontally and about 6 feet high at the apex. I mostly tried to make mine with the highest arch possible so i could run over fences and gate like i saw David Belle do once, i am sure you have all see it. Anyways i never found a place where that was actually a performable move with a decent obstacle, but maybe some day.... ahhhhhhh some day.

You contradicted yourself! OH NOES! 5 steps on a flat wall means your taking some really crappy steps  Tongue

I don't think anything more than 2 or 3 steps is beneficial. I usually get my farthest (vertical or horizontal) with 1 step. I haven't really worked on 2 steps but I remember doing them a few times and achieving the same amount of power as my 1 step. Like Tai pointed out earlier, just do one step until you feel comfortable with it, then naturally try to move on to 2 steps.

That was all assuming the wall is flat. If it's slanted, then you can get many MANY more steps on there depending on the angle  Wink

When I do my runs i can get 5 feet up the wall at my apex, I guess, and probably run across the wall and land 12 or more feet from the start.
