Well I sprained my ankle a week or so ago, maybe a day or two less and it's been feeling alot better.  But then I was pretty stupid today (in hindesight) and I think I may have overexerted it (high jumping).  So it's feeling pretty sore now.  I am DEFINITLEY not doing that again so what should I do if I ever sprain my ankle again and how long do I have to spend recovering?
Thanks in Advance.
(Also if this is relevant I fell when I was walking down the stairs, of all things)

Depends how bad it is. Some take longer than others.

Make sure you're rehabbing it well. If you have no idea what you're doing see a physical therapist (hopefully a good one).

Ice like 5+ times a day especially after any activity.

15-20 minutes on... ~30-45 off and so on. It helps.. A LOT.
