So ive been doing gymnastics since i was 5, and im pretty decient (Level 10). So i was thinking i could turn that in to parkour. Do you guys have any tips for a guy crossing over? Do you guys do like front handspring vaults over shiz, or like any handstands at all? Id like to learn some diffrent stuff from what i know. Parkour seems alot more loose then gymnastics flipping wise. Any workout tips to?

Glad to see you interested in parkour, I hope you learn to love it as others have.
First off, I just want to mention parkour isn't so much based on the flips, or a technique and style oriented discipline/art/sport as gymnastics is.
Lemme break it down to real simple.
Parkour is based in human movement. The central idea is to not allow obstacles to hinder your movement, but instead facilitate it. This requires training both physically and technically.
When I first started, the APK tutorial wasn't around yet. But, the guys that put it together are more than reliable, and I'd suggest starting there.
One thing I've learned that's VERY helpful to a traceur's growth (especially newer ones) is staying active on the forums, or at least some strong parkour community.
As far as work outs go, see the APK WOD and the APK Warm-up. And don't forget you can always talk to people on here.
Personally, I'm currently working on weighted pullups and dips, along with my daily parkour training.

1. Read all the tutorials on the side bar of the main page.
2. Don't be hasty. If you feel like your body is getting overuse injuries (very, very common because of hard impacts), take a few days rest until they heal.
3. This is NOT about big drops or anything.

u shud do freerunning which is in simple terms a mix of gymnastics and parkour, ive been doin gymnastics for 7 years and am a high level floor gymnast (dunno wut number) but if u wanna see an example check out our vide on our website groundzerofreerunning.com

u shud try out freerunning, it is in laymans terms a combination of parkour and gymnastics(flips and some highbar and vaulting) u shud check us out groundzerofreerunning.com we are a philly freerunning team if u like it let me know ill give you some tips, i was a gymnast probably level 10 if the numbers get better as u go up, im not sure tho, and i tried freerunning andloved it, so lemme know... --Tricky
