What: Pulled all the muscles in my left forearm between my elbow and wrist and probably strained the tendons as well

When: 2 days ago

Doing what: I went to do a round off and as I was about to plant my hand (about 6 inches or so from the ground), my foot slipped out and I lost balance landing on my hand and hyper extending my wrist backwards

Symptoms: some immediate pain: Loss of all strength and mobility in hand/wrist (hurts when I move and badly when I try and lift anything. very slight sensitivity to pressure on the muscles. The rest of my arm is fine

Treatment: ice, ibuprofen, and stretching while icing

Other: Went to see the trainers the next day after there was no swelling just to make sure if I should get an x-ray or not. Did a quick check (compression of bones by hand, feeling for swelling etc. same stuff I did on my own immediately. Gave me the treatment told me be up on my way in a week and a half. Made fun of me for doing something not in my cross country training regime and I moved on.

I think The only reason nothing broke in my fall was due to my training, while I didn't fall with the most grace or in any semblance of a correct position, the strength and flexibility I had gained from working out and being warmed up probably helped me to keep my record of no broken bones (knock on wood.).
