When we do pullups, we feel completely different. I'm feeling an odd sort of bruise-like tension in the area between my elbow and wrist (not on the palm side, on "top") while he feels almost like he's hyper extending around his elbow to bicep...connection...thing. Are we doing something wrong? Sorry if this has been discussed, but I searched and didn't see anything. Thanks in advance for help!

How can u hyperextend around a joint. Joints are WHAT hyperextends.

Bruise-like tension is likely caused by your grip muscles (wrist flexors) contracting in a new way. This will likely go away with time.
