Going with the advice of knowing what you're doing and understanding mistakes in all kinds of techniques, I wanted to ask about a pretty basic exercise: the pull up (mainly, palms facing away.) Me and my friend have been trying to work out together, and to be perfectly honest neither of us is in amazing shape. *However* we both have insanely concentrated muscles...in a few areas only. For example, my back muscles around my shoulder blades are crazy strong, so I've always been able to lift/pull etc. things really well. His arms are where most of his strength lies, so he can hold positions for endurance and things like that.
When we do pullups, we feel completely different. I'm feeling an odd sort of bruise-like tension in the area between my elbow and wrist (not on the palm side, on "top") while he feels almost like he's hyper extending around his elbow to bicep...connection...thing. Are we doing something wrong? Sorry if this has been discussed, but I searched and didn't see anything. Thanks in advance for help!

This makes almost no sense at all.

He feelsl ike he is hyper extending around his elbow to bicep connection thingy?  Tendon im assuming..

How can u hyperextend around a joint.  Joints are WHAT hyperextends.

I can't help you if you don't make sense :\  Explain it in lay terms rather than trying to use terms you do not understand.

Bruise-like tension is likely caused by your grip muscles (wrist flexors) contracting in a new way.  This will likely go away with time.

Holy god on high. I was a lot more tired last night that I thought I was. That makes no sense, at all. You're exactly right: I dropped several terms that, looking back, should never have been used lol. Your answer about the bruise feeling makes sense, thanks for that one, and what I MEANT to say about my friend is that he feels an intense burning and almost locked-up sensation in the tendon of his elbow. God...friends dont let friends post at ridiculous hours of the morning after long days. Sorry about that  Lips Sealed

Dont need answers anymore, and this post is just sitting here like a tick on the beautiful parkour forums. Please, someone put my sad little early morning post out of its misery. Please.
