Im one of those guys that blew out a knee in high school and was supposed to have surgery to repair it but didnt due to $.  so I asked a bunch of guys over 50 about glucosamine when I worked with em. They all said the same thing. It works, but Its not a miracle drug. It wont repair your knee to new, but it will make the bends a little easier.

Could you define "blew out a knee" for my own knowledge?

Was it ACL or PCL damage?  Meniscus Damage?  Ligament damage?

The knee is a pretty intricate joint and I am just wondering what happened.

But yes, any ligament/tendon damage that was caused will not be healed by glucosamine.  The current research shows that glucosamine increases synovial fluid and bursa sac mobility (these are things that allow your joints to move painlessly.)  It does not aid in the mending of connective tissues.

Snapped a ligament, tore a tendon and cracked some of the cartilage between the joint and cap.
I have to put in back in place sometimes. its not fun.
