Steve didn't really fail Animus, from what i read he just stopped because of social reasons (ie he wanted to spend more time with his family or whatever). I am getting kinda bored during the night time. I try to train as much as possible but you get a bit tired after a while. Does anybody have any good books they would recommend? Doesn't matter what type i'm really into anything.

i was referring to Steve Low and his friends failing.

lol. Didn't realize that's who you were referring to.

Those books seem interesting, have to hit up the library or bookstore tomorrow.

Dude... seriously...be logical. The human race (and every other animal for that matter) has been sleeping at night a being awake during the day. You are gonna need a lot more sleep than 2 hours a day. I suggest you stop. The sleep deprivation is gonna catch up to you. You gonna hurt yourself. Undecided

It's an interesting concept that might warrant some investigation, but I'd be very wary of training in an unfocused state of mind.  That's asking for injury.

I have been training lightly. If i don't feel up to it or i am tired i don't do it. The man who did it for quite a while didn't report any really negative side effects. He only quite because everyone else is monophasic. Im also no stranger to sleep deprivation, i deal with it kinda easily. I hope there is no negative side effects but there may be. I'll have to wait and see.

Day 7. Epic Fail!
Yep that's right i failed. Today i sleep through every nap i had and now i can't get back into my REM so easy. I have not given up however, i am merely taking  a break from it. I realized that my main problem was not enough to do with my extra time. So for the next day or so i am going to get a list of things to do, books to read, music to listen to and projects to be done. Hopefully this will make me able to stay awake easier. If at first you don't succeed try and try again.

Yeah, there are extensive negative side effects from sleep deprivation. Unless the guy was getting hormonal testing every so often, you may not see it physically. But you're beating your body down. Deep sleep is when the body refreshes itself with anabolic hormones like growth hormone and suppression of cortisol. Not getting deep sleep means you have elevated cortisol and depressed GH (as well as other markers of stress) which make you age faster. For example, things that cause elevated cort and depressed GH are.. worrying/excessive stress & senescence/natural aging process.

Wow,t hat's the SECOND time I write a sentence that is grammatically ambiguous.  I should've written "Steve's friends failing" or "Steve Low and THAT his friends failed."

Really? Hmm that is some interesting and helpful information. Still, you only get one shot at life, why not try new things when you get the chance? And im pretty sure i wont be staying on the Uberman schedule for a long time, maybe two months max.

Well that certainly was surprising. Didn't believe you could die from not sleeping.

There was a story of a korean world of warcraft player who died because he played for days, maybe even weeks straight without sleep. I never really understood how you would die, would your heart just stop working? but I guess it makes sense. Sleep is very important.

I had heard about the WoW player who died when it first happened. But i just thought it was due to not eating properly or using the washroom at regular intervals.

Basically, sleep is good for you. Very good for you. Do it. 7-8 hrs a night. Maybe a bit more or less depending.
