My name is Derik and I'm a freshman at Metro on Auraria Campus in downtown Denver. I'm currently trying to make a Parkour Club for Metro. Unless someone else feels up to it, I will be 'President' of said club, but I need a VP, a secretary, and a treasurer in order to make the club valid. If you have any suggestions for a faculty advisor, that would be great, too. If you haven't been on campus, there are so many sweet spots to train on, but the Auraria Campus Police always yell at us and tell us to leave. If we have an official club, we can jam as we please. Please, help me set this up, I also want to one day encompass all three schools on campus with thisclub, but for right now, I'm taking it one step at a time. Please feel free to call or text me at anytime at 720-298-8462. If you do call/text me, please tell me your first and last name alone with where I know you from (APK). If you can help, please do so. If not, wish me luck. Thanks.

P.S. Requirements for chair positions includes at least one completed semester at Metro along with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.

I will be starting next semester up at Metro,I will be a junior. I would be interested in scoping out spots in Denver sometime, but I'm not interested in supporting any parkour club. Good luck Mr. President.

That was rather rude. But I'll take it for what it's worth and continue my search elsewhere.

I'm a student at Metro, and would be interested in at least meeting in an informal way, though a full club would be cool as well.

If you like, we could try and find a time to meet up at school sometime.

Wasn't intended to be rude. I offered to check out local spots, I just don't think a Parkour club is what Metro needs.

Metro does need a parkour club in order for us to be able to jam on campus. Right now, we're not allowed to train anywhere on Auraria campus because "It's dangerous, reckless, too out-of-the-ordinary," said an auraria campus police officer. But, if we have a parkour club, we'll be allowed to train on campus because the training would be for a student activity.

Hey Derek,

I don't know if you're on campus this afternoon, but if you wanna meet up today, I should be at the Campus rec center around 2:30 or so, and should be there until about 3:45.  I'll be the one in the Cubs jersey, or the blue shirt/white bandanna while I'm working out.

Does that mean you'd be willing to help out with the parkour club?

Because I can take up to 4 classes at Metro and my School will fully reimburse me for tuition if I pass the classes.

And so I wont be behind for taking the next Fall semester off to go to europe

As soon as we get a parkour club started, we're going to include a clause in the Parkour Club constitution that out-of-school members will be allowed to jam on campus, through use of a permission card. Ideas are still in the works, but let's worry about the club first...
