From what I saw, I'd say work on your roll so that you get up in a smoother fashion, and when you backflip, don't just jump backwards, jump up and backwards.

The wall up was very nice, just keep conditioning and practicing.

thanks man...ya the rool was actually probably the worst one i did, but only one i caught on film.  Only problem with jumping up on the backflip is i tend to do them to fast and land hard on my feet instead of being able to flow and roll.  But ill give it a shot.

Cool man welcome to the forum,  i think a lot of things can be smoothed out, generally repetitions help a ton in refining moves.  Keep posting up questions and vids if your looking for more improvement.

ya i definately need to practive my rolls and landings.   Got up on the school roof tonight and got some good gap jumps in.  Plus the roof has like a rubbing coating which is very nice for landings.   Once i get someone to tape for me and to keep a look out i will post more

Remember that it's hardly about what roof gaps you did or what death defying stunt you accomplished. It would be wise to keep yourself out of trouble and stay away from things like that. Getting up on the school roof could you get in some big trouble. Just a little something to remember.

I went to the local high school and got kicked out. I thought you said you were new to this? If so, jumping from roof to roof may not be in your best interest. Its good to drill the basics.

Its not like I can stop you, so just dont kill yourself alright? Wink

dont worry i have connections in the school and the local pd.  Im not saying the jumps were huge or even that high mostly from ducts to another small roof.  biggest one was probably lke a 8 foot jump with with a 3ft drop, maybe 10 ft high.   I was pushing myself at all on it.  Could of made it without  even running.   I/m 6'2,clearing 8 ft is a a scip for me

please re-evaluate why you've decided to do parkour.  if your answer has anything to do with thrill seeking or showing off, then i suggest you save yourself the trouble and learn something else.  parkour has absolutely nothing to do with roof gaps and can be practiced completely at ground level.  roof gaps should be completely avoided unless you have many years of experience or if you are legitimately caught in an emergency situation where jumping from one roof to another is unavoidable.

now if you are actually into parkour for the right reasons (self improvement mentally and physically, to help others, etc.), then practice the basic vaults and techniques, condition endlessly, study movement and the discipline itself, and repeat (when i say "repeat" i really mean it).  if you aren't ready for a gradual progression over years of conditioning, training, and studying, then please stop before you hurt yourself or our reputation as traceurs.

thank you.
