Here is what a parkour website looks like when you build it "so you can pre-sell your visitors" - Created by some 13 year old kid's mom - then unleashed on Parkour in the name of the 13 year old.

I hope the mother enjoys all the crack she buys with the money from the google ads that are rampant throughout this site.

http://www.parkour-online.com/How-I-did-it.html

Sorry to be harsh, but there are so many people out there working so hard to get out INFORMATION that this kind of stuff just pisses me off.

Please only click on the page with the link - don't give mom any more crack money than she already has. (or go ahead and click - try to find some useful information on there)

When I got an email a few weeks ago asking to link to the site I knew it was fishy - the email wasn't written by a 13 year old, now that I know who's behind it, I'm kind of ashamed for her.

Google Adsense or whatever is a great thing to use, but i think you should make a website thats actually useful and is for something other than to earn extra money. Like APK. Im sure it makes something off adds, but its obviously not here for money, but to unite all of us and help us become better.

But then again, some people are just greedy Bastards.

That site is brutal.

What do you mean by that? Did she want APK to have a link to that page or for them to have a link here?

Oh, wow...  That was...  Surreal.  Did that page just declare that they're out to gain the confidence (aka. con) and then fleece their visitors?  And that if you buy SBI like they did, YOU CAN DO IT TOO!?  Although, I do wonder if there's anything wrong if they actually offered a decent amount of useful information on their site...  There is but a trifle right now and you really need to dig around to find it...  Sadly, it seems like their sin is that they did not actually follow the steps outlined by SBI...  They got too greedy and attempted to increase traffic and pre-sell (?) before they had the content in place.

What do you mean by that? Did she want APK to have a link to that page or for them to have a link here?

I'm very sure they're asking Mark to put a link to THEM on APK (and probably offered to link back to APK in return).  The reason they would want that is because your Google Page Rank depends on how many pages link to your page.  Additionally, the Page Rank of the page with the link also factors into the equation.  So, when a high-PR site like APK links to their site, it will boost their relevance on Google and their site will appear higher in the results when someone does a search on "Parkour".  I'm sure it's a strategy detailed in the SBI Action Guide for the build TRAFFIC phase (which I'm sure also mentions using font in BOLDED RED to mesmerize and annoy your visitors)...

Have to agree with Matt completely...

Thats messed up. A Parkour front for some stupid site builder or what not.

Not only is it messed up, but its completely obvious!

Apparently the amazing Site Build It! doesn't tell you to leave the awesome techniques they told you OFF of the website in which you made using those techniques...

pffffff! i don't know what you guys are talking about, that site was freakin awesome! LOL

How could you not appreciate that rapid transition from parkour to SBI marketing, all on ONE PAGE! They completely sold out before you could even make it past the fourth paragraph. That was funny.

Add this one to the "wrong way" list - it seems they take every instance of "Parkour" that comes through the news and post the story whether it has any relevance or not. Sad

Painful.

And yet, sadly all too common when it comes to the internet, not just confined to parkour -- although I do think it is a much more common thing with sports/athletic activities and the like.
Cheers to APK for giving us all a good place to congregate...

Thanks, we actually check all news instances of Parkour and freerunning and filter them so only relevant ones get posted in the "in the news" section on the front page.

Yeah, and by the way I appreciate that news feed. It's nice to see what else is going on for parkour in the world, and even nicer that it's all actually useful and relevant.

Way too many people are making obnoxiously empty websites with help from Google and Amazon.  Kind of sad, really.
