Hey guys... have any thoughts on this? I myself do a little graf. (mainly Stencils), and respect it as an art. Parkour does the same, and we try as much as possible to keep a good image in the public, or more so the press' eye, and I'd like to do the same with my art. haha can be hard sometimes anyway, thoughts?

well, in all actuality, I damn no person for the actions they choose to do, but I see graffiti as disrespectful and rude. If, however, you can obtain permission from the owner of the items you wish to 'tag' on, I see no problem. Another argument is that many traceurs are faced with 'destruction of property' accusations through the activities they do, when in reality we rarely break anything (besides our bones ) regardless, i can't say don't do it, but I can say I don't support it. Nothing personal, man.

Nothing personal, man. haha no, makes perfect sense actually. and once again thats a problem i encounter fairly regularly. Everybody sees it as disrespectful because its become affiliated with gangs, and destruction of property, and all that. But its art, well, real graffiti is. Examples- Shepard Fairey Banksy Mike Giant etc. haha thanks for the feedback

I personally would not want to have parkour affiliated with graffiti. Tag things up all you want, but that would suck to be kicked out of an area because someone saw something somewhere that had the word "Parkour" tagged all over it.

I don't think he's gonna tag parkour everywhere. He's just seein who's interested in it as an art, and bringing across the point that its hard for some people to respect graffiti and parkour as arts because they might have a negative impression of it (for the wrong reasons)

Sure man go ahead and incorporate Pk in your graffiti, but only tag up a spot if it is well of the beaten path. For example tagging up Cat Ftn. or any place in Skyline park would be a bad idea!!!

unless u paint a sick straight up bansky in skyline......
such a public place..
i'm from NY man, graffiti is everywhere. A bunch of my friends wrote coming up, too....but it really just makes your city look like crap unless you're an amazing artist like bansky is.
one of the nice things i liked about CO when i moved out here was the lack of graffiti. Now don't get me wrong -- good graffiti is sick, but like traceurs, most people don't wait until they are good enough to take it outside.

respect good sir. haha that was probably the best thought out answer on this thread. alot of my stencils are very iconic.. kind of something that you see in multiple places and its just BAM! there. but i do a good deal of political pieces as well.. regardless.. id much rather not be taped to a tree.. so ill keep them out of skyline for now
