Ive noticed in England/France etc most European countries all have Parkour Parks somewhere. In America it would be nice to have Parks where we can train. Would there be any way to get that going in a community?

They do?I think you might be thinking of some sort of "good places to train" but there aren't any parkour parks (that I know of yet) that are like govt. sanctioned and fenced in. The Dame Du Lac in France was built for climbers but is now closed (fenced off anyway) to the public. We have a few very cool places in the US, check out landscape architect Lawrence Halprin - who is still alive btw!

In Hamilton, Ontario, we've been working with the construction of an arts museum that wishes to have an outdoor area specifically designed for Parkour training.  In Mississauga, Ontario, the government has fully recognized Parkour as a legitimate sport and allows Parkour training on three government buildings/grounds at specific times of the day/week.  Other than that, there's nothing I know of close to a park.

How did you get the state to recognize parkour as a "sport"?

Jin from team tracuer made this video about the exercise parks in Nanjing China, they aren't necessarily parkour parks, but they could certainly be used for tons of parkour specific conditioning and general exercise. Jin also uses a bunch of the stuff in his sampler.

I hope cities like Hamilton will continue to build structures like that, it'll only add to the ever expanding map of hotspots every traceur wants to hit around the country, and the world.

We've met with some people working in the Parks and Recreation departments who are interested in building something, but it usually comes down to money. Need some sort of a grant to get one started I'm thinking.

make it skater friendly lol. or convert the skaters to pk. or if your really picky just say hey we dont use your parks so you cant use ours. there would be an entrance they would have to go through and probably a security guard so its not like they could sneak a skateboard in and get away with it.

The portion of the art museum, as to my understanding of it, is still private property, so skaters will be kicked off by security, but we wouldn't be.  It won't be completed till like.. 2010 or 2011 though.

Hawaiiboy, I have no idea.  I wasn't involved in that process.
